VLC's advantages are that it is standalone, self-contained, all-in-one, so it won't fuck with anything else period, and will pretty much play anything you throw at it out of the box, and usually with hardware acceleration. That's why I prefer it. Couldn't tell you why anyone would use anything different.
AviSynth/DirectShow. There's just so many filters that VLC can't use. And these filters aren't gimmicks like "black and white" or "add film grain", I'm talking about high-quality scalers, deinterlacers and refiners.

http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Y40-80-Laptop-i7-5500U-80FA001CUS/dp/B00SIMWIZW Anyone know how well this does with newer games on low quality? Or this one http://www.neweggbusiness.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9B-34-318-627&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleBiz-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleBiz-PC-_-pla-_-All+Laptops+%2f+Notebooks-_-9B-34-318-627&gclid=CODwgIq77cYCFdSQHwodNmMJRQ Not buying it from there, it's just the only one I could find that wasn't the shitty lenovo website.
I had a broken portable hard drive and a shitty netbook so I used my brain for once and realized I could just take the hard drive from the netbook and put it in the casing for the broken hard drive. It worked and everything, but can I do anything useful with it? I'm guessing it's too slow to use for screen capturing because it uses a mini usb type b port and it came out of a shitty netbook, but can I make a bootable drive for windows or would it be too slow for that too? I don't know much about this stuff. It's about 160gb .
Just installed a new video card, booted computer, restarted computer to access bios but after the computer shut down none of my monitors recognized any of the VGA or HDMI ports As of now I have no way of accessing the display, what do I do? Motherboard: Asrock Z75 Gpu: GeForce GTX960 Cpu: Intel I5
Did you change the connections from off the motherboard to the ones off the gpu?
Did you change the connections from off the motherboard to the ones off the gpu?
I don't follow could you please elaborate? What I did was add a gpu where there was none previously and plugged in the pci-e cable. The VGA cord was previously plugged into the motherboard and after I installed the gpu I plugged the cord into the VGA slot on the gpu slot instead. Afterwards I tried using a HDMI cable to the monitor, still no display. Thanks in advance, I hope this helped.
Ok. You did move the cables off the motherboard then. Are the fans on the gpu turning, are there any beeps when you turn the computer. Is the monitor plugged in to power too?
Ok. You did move the cables off the motherboard then. Are the fans on the gpu turning, are there any beeps when you turn the computer. What do I do to get the monitor to use the gpu's vga slot? Forgot to mention it sent me to system repair but I'm assuming that's irrelevant. Third update, after rebooting after finishing startup repair neither vga slots are recognized again
Your GPU might not be enabled in BIOS. If you can get the motherboard port to work again then maybe it's a setting in there.
Your GPU might not be enabled in BIOS. And again, thanks for all your help.
whats a phone with a great camera and battery span? don't care about operating system, budget is say $700
whats a phone with a great camera and battery span? don't care about operating system, budget is say $700
Nokia Lumias are pretty good imo, but they don'treally have any apps
Are wireless touchscreen monitors a thing? I'd love a tablet sized one for a desktop/windows I'd love to replace a screen with one. it would be of great use.
Just installed a new video card, booted computer, restarted computer to access bios but after the computer shut down none of my monitors recognized any of the VGA or HDMI ports As of now I have no way of accessing the display, what do I do? Motherboard: Asrock Z75 Gpu: GeForce GTX960 Cpu: Intel I5
Okay so I fixed it, and just in case anyone comes along this and has a similar problem I'll explain what I did. Simply put I uninstalled the gpu, that fixed the monitor not recognizing the motherboard's CPU. Then I went into computer properties->device manager and disabled, not uninstalled, but disabled the intel graphics. Installed the gpu again, used the gpu's vga slot, and it worked perfectly perfect. And again I want to thank itsamario for the help. luv u bby <3
VLC.
Tbh, I find VLC to stutter and artifact alot compared to other players. The stutter looks like low FPS and is best noticed when playing a smooth video on MPC or something next to it.
:snip:
Are these two you already have, or are you looking for a new one? Neither are top notch choices.
The 300 is a pretty old case. Not really any good anymore.
The 300 is a pretty old case. Not really any good anymore.
Holy shit, it's a case, not a CPU or GPU
CM for sure though.
I'm not wrong though. It's cable management is, well non existent. The grey inside is disappointing and looks awful. IIRC it only comes with a two pretty bad fans so cooling ain't great out the box either. The hard drive mounts are pretty poor and are prone to vibration sometimes as well as everything being tooled. It's just not that great anymore. No cpu cut-out either.
Holy shit, it's a case, not a CPU or GPU
Case tech advances, just so you know.
I bought a Corsair Carbide Series 200R and I have no regrets whatsoever, very good case with great cable management and very well made. No sharp edges. The front i/o panel is immediately accessible because there's no door but it's also very tasteful, it looks like a nice, professional computer should. I like the design of the power/reset button too, it's all in one, and the only two activity lights are also on this same button combo, and they aren't overbearing. They're just the right amount of light to be visible in the day but not upsetting in a room at night. [editline]22nd July 2015[/editline]
Case tech advances, just so you know.
Oh yeah it does. Had I not bought a recently designed case like this one, I wouldn't have four dedicated 2.5 inch drive bays meant specifically for SSDs.
My case has a stealth mount inside the motherboard tray for a 2.5" drive AND a 3.5" one. It's really cool.
What Torrent client do you guys recommended? I remember seeing a thread about it but I lost it. A link to that thread would be fine too
QBit ftw.
The 300 were always considered a discount case considering the target demographic, so only valid complaint is no factory SSD mount.
USB 2.0, hard drives aren't mounted perpendicularly If you're buying new there's not much reason to get it over the Antec 302 (which is actually cheaper right now) [editline]22nd July 2015[/editline] I mean there's no doubt that it's a functional case, but so is a cardboard box and duct tape More modern cases have many ease of use improvements
