Did the water leak into the inside of the case?
yes. Not much tho. All I saw was a couple drops on the underside of my gpu.
So I'm still on Windows 8.1, and planning to update to Windows 10 soon enough, but I'm having an issue where my whole computer hangs and there's nothing I can do besides shut it down with the power button. Ctrl + Alt + Delete does not bring up the menu, clicking does nothing, and the mouse is constantly displaying the "loading" animation. Normally, it only hangs anywhere from a minute to 5 minutes, but everything is back to normal, but this happens about once a week. The hanging where my computer has to be turned off has only happened recently, but I'm getting pretty frustrated. Does anyone know what could be the cause of it? Should I just upgrade to Windows 10 and see if that fixes the issue?

Something may be broken with your current install and you shouldn't really do an in place upgrade unless your confident that your system is currently okay.
How does one get into coding iPhone / Android apps? Have an idea I want to mess around with. I've done Java and C++ for a couple semesters.

Specifically could someone point me in the direction of allowing users of the same app to connect with one another. I've really only done basic programming (arrays, hello world, math, loops, etc.)
Dealing with a weird issue at the moment after updating to Windows 10... After upgrading to Windows 10, my audio drivers started going funky, with my audio centering off on my left ear and very minimal audio going to the right ear. I tried to update the drivers to no avail, as it's still giving me the same result of left ear getting more audio instead of right. Anyone got any idea how I can go about fixing this?
Anyone know whats up with my taskbar? Just did a fresh install of Windows 8.1 after I noticed the drivers I need for Windows 10 aren't out yet. I go to right click it (an open program at the bottom so I can close a window for example) and it has that odd blue shading. [t]http://i.imgur.com/nHTE82F.png[/t]

I reverted back to Windows 7 yesterday after my GPU told me it wasn't yet ready for 10, and ever since then Google Chrome's been slightly off mouse-wise. When I hover the cursor over a hyperlink, the URL doesn't appear in the bottom left corner. Additionally, hovering over a tab won't display the full webpage's title, which is a lot more irritating than it sounds. The same kind of thing happens on sites like Facepunch, when I'm on the main screen and see a thread title that's cut off I can't just mouse over it and see the full title of the thread, I have to open it in a new tab and see whether I actually want to read it. Same applies to Flagdog, I cant tell if someone's from australia or new zealand, for instance.
In Firefox is there any way in situ, or by any addon to change the direction of saving files by their format? Like, I want to save .srt files in a "C:\Subs" and .rar in "C:\Rars" ?
Does anybody know if there's something like the iPod Touch, but with Android instead?
Does anybody know if there's something like the iPod Touch, but with Android instead?
A android phone without a SIM card inserted and with cellular deactivated in the software. Basically "flight mode" but with bluetooth, wi-fi and GPS re-activated (it's possible, doing that with my old Android phone) There once were a couple of such devices, but they fell out of use when people realized you could just do that.

They still exist - mostly audiophile DAPs, some of Sony's Walkmans run Android - but there's no point, just get a cellphone and turn off the cellular connection.
[img_thumb]http://derka.info/i/61grSG.jpg[/img_thumb] As I understand it, I can put the connectors of my 5.1 speakers into these laptop ports left to right; green, red, black. Am I correct? Also, I plan to use them as 2.1 (L,R,sub only), am I better putting the green cable into the port with the headphone symbol or the one on the right? (line out?) Lastly, if I use a 3.5mm socket to jack extender, to make the cables neater, will I experience any audio quality loss? Cheers

Cheers
uh no? that's headphones/spdif, microphone, line out [editline]1st August 2015[/editline] in case you're not actually getting the issue one of those isn't even an audio out port, and windows can only use one audio output at a time anyways
uh no? that's headphones/spdif, microphone, line out [editline]1st August 2015[/editline] in case you're not actually getting the issue one of those isn't even an audio out port, and windows can only use one audio output at a time anyways
Yeah I guess I read somewhere that someone used this setup, but I asked anyway because it seemed odd. When I plug my red cable into mic in, my realtek driver asks whether it's a mic or a centre speaker. No matter what I put into headphones it asks whether it's headphones or front speaker, and no matter what I put into line out it asks whether it's headphones or rear speakers. This is just a curiosity question anyway since I won't be using 5.1. Would be cool if someone could answer the others.
This, basically. They still exist - mostly audiophile DAPs, some of Sony's Walkmans run Android - but there's no point, just get a cellphone and turn off the cellular connection.
Or a tablet.
Does anybody know if there's something like the iPod Touch, but with Android instead?
As others have said, just a normal phone with cell turned off. For a suggestion, picking up a second hand G2 would be a good price point and specs.
Or a tablet.
He probably wanted something that ain't big. Y'know, 4" territory at most, like the recent version of them.
one of those isn't even an audio out port, and windows can only use one audio output at a time anyways
Actually no. It can use as many as it wants, as long as the software and hardware is capable. The default sound device is simply the device sound gets directed to by default, but if the program is capable, it can select any output it wants and use it separately from the default. The default communication device option in Windows itself is specifically for headsets separate from your default audio device. You could literally have two different audio stream playing through the headphone port and line out if your sound drivers were capable of addressing them as different devices.
Yo, can anyone recommend a good dedicated sound-card? Not to cheap and not to overpriced. Gotta have support for 7:1.
How do you need to connect your speakers? Line or digital?
Also, it has to be able to be used from a PCIe 2.0 x16 slot. I have heard that this should be possible, even if the card is made for a PCIe 1 slot.
Yup, no problem.
Digital :)
Does your motherboard have optical out for the onboard audio and your speakers/receive have an optical input? In that case you don't need a sound card, you just need an optical cable. I don't think soundcards do anything really special when your using pure digital.
The thing is, my onboard soundcard is dead. But everything else works on it, so I'm not bothering replacing it. But a soundcard is something that I should be able to keep on using when I upgrade the next time.
If all you need is optical, not analog, this will probably do. http://www.amazon.com/Syba-External-Adapter-Optical-SD-AUD20101/dp/B006SF68P2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8 It needs one of those 3.5 mm to optical jack adapters. Its not expensive, but for optical out, you don't really need a fancy solution. Otherwise, this will probably do if you still need analog outputs. I also noticed the color changes with my Windows 8 background color, so thats interesting. Don't know if that extra information might help, any ideas?

Y'know, 4" territory at most, like the recent version of them.
Thank you guys. I thought it might be something like a Walkman, but the ones with Android that are available now are a little too expensive, and I wouldn't exactly call myself an audiophile, so I might just go for a tablet. I've changed my mind about the size, I thought that I might get more for the price (bigger screen). Sorry about that. Any recommendations for tablets around 7" or 8" (not used/second hand)?
I'm unable to unmount ISOs normally within Windows 10. I have to eject the image from Disk Management, then remove its drive letter if I intend to use it again. Is this something Facepunch knows how to fix or should I just go get WinCDemu again?
