How do I remove Windows.old from C:\ ? Even if I can't delete it, I'd like this bloody 20GB brick to go somewhere that isn't a cramped SSD. It seems to be made of digital obsidian, absolutely indestructible.
Trying to figure out a price for my current pc, i want to sell it. RAM: 4GB DDR2 800MHz(?), 2000 years old MOBO: Asrock K10N78D, 5 years old PSU: Coolermaster 550W GX, 5 years old CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955BE Rev. C3, AM2+/AM3, 3.2GHz, 8MB, 5 years old Case: NZXT M59 Steel GPU: MSI N660 Gaming 2GD5/OC NVIDIA GeForce GTX660, 1 year old SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB 2.5'', < 1 year old HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1tb 7200RPM 3.5'', < 1 year old CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, < 1 year old I got offered 250€, and i have no idea. Is this price reasonable? Edit: got it raised to 300€, again, is that reasonable? Im selling to GF, so i dont want to profit from it, i just want the price to be fair for both of us

is it worth it to buy pc parts from ebay to save some money?
is it worth it to buy pc parts from ebay to save some money?
Mostly yes. Be careful though.
is it worth it to buy pc parts from ebay to save some money?
I buy 90% of my hardware used. [editline]2nd August 2015[/editline] And I buy a shitton of hardware
okay, what is there to look out for in terms of things to avoid?
"For Parts or Repair" and sellers with <98% feedback or <30 stars. Also, never buy cheap flash memory on eBay. Anything else is covered under the Ebay buyer protection so you can get a refund if it's broke, even if it says "no refunds" Also, I order everything in-country, cause out-of-country shipping takes forever sometimes and refunds are uneconomical.
That sounds stressfull. Just use Rufus.
I'm not trying to make bootable media. I'm trying to mount disc images within my installed-to-metal operating system. Rufus doesn't handle that.
Yeah but slow flash drives not a really good solution. I can mount ISOs just fine and eject them as normal lavacano
Yeah see I knew it was my end, but I'm wondering if maybe someone here has seen this problem before. (I'm also getting "you do not have permission to mount this" even though it mounts just fine, but Google says that's just Windows trying to mount images on already-taken drive letters like a dumbass) Is it possible that it's caused by a read-only filesystem? The images in question live on my ext4 partition, and Windows could just be trying to update the access timestamp, failing, then assuming it can't continue from there.
I haven't really been following hardware in a few years If I were to upgrade my motherboard/CPU in the coming months, what should I be looking into for a higher tier capability? Money may or may not be no object
Do windows 8 themes work on windows 10, tia.
Windows 8 themes don't even work on 8.1 properly
I haven't really been following hardware in a few years If I were to upgrade my motherboard/CPU in the coming months, what should I be looking into for a higher tier capability? Money may or may not be no object
What do you have right now?
What do you have right now?
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670k CPU @ 3.40GHz in a Asus z87 Pro
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670k CPU @ 3.40GHz in a Asus z87 Pro
Are you having any issues with anything? Short of higher level rendering it shouldn't be giving you any issues whatsoever.
My laptop overheats frequently, what do you guys recommend in terms of like a cooling pad or something? I have no idea what's crap and stuff as far as that goes.
My laptop overheats frequently, what do you guys recommend in terms of like a cooling pad or something? I have no idea what's crap and stuff as far as that goes.
Rethermal paste the laptop, see if you can improve airflow. Often there's shitty grates or mesh in the way. I'm partial to the Cooler Master U2 and U3 depending on laptop size. You can position the fans exactly where they need to be, it's lightweight, and cheap.
Are you having any issues with anything? Short of higher level rendering it shouldn't be giving you any issues whatsoever.
This. Even an Ivy Bridge (previous generation) i5 is still really fast. If you have issues, it's most likely something other than your CPU simply being too slow. And even then, the most cost-effective thing to do would be overclocking - costs you only the price of a cooler (and not even that if you already have a good one).
Okay, I thought I'd gotten this fixed, but it broke itself sometime in the past hour. Updated my laptop (an Asus G75) from W7 to W10. The audio is just broken enough to be useless without being completely unusable. If I don't have the "2.1 channel" enhancement turned on for the speaker device, I get nothing out of the "subwoofer" (which is what makes like 80% of the sound). If I don't disable all enhancements (not just have none enabled - I have to do the "disable all" checkbox), it will work fine in the audio test, but actual apps will have zero sound. Firefox gives no errors, WMP says unsupported file type or codec, and so on. I can get it to work for about an hour by uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, but that is NOT a sustainable solution. Anybody have ideas on a permanent solution? Cuz otherwise I'm going to have to roll back to W7, and I actually like most of the other stuff W10 added.
Physical Damage though
Ah, that sucks. What happened/symptoms?
Ah, that sucks. What happened/symptoms?
Got slammed out on the bench a while back in someone's rage Talked to Reagy a bit about it too during a gta session Although it looks like I may have an opportunity soon to afford a decent replacement
The CPU likely still works. And any new motherboard is fully compatible with it. So you can save ~$230
The CPU likely still works. And any new motherboard is fully compatible with it. So you can save ~$230
I'm asking for a product, not a compromise

Not sure if right place for this... Couldn't find anywhere Does anyone know how to achieve 1080p/60fps on a Sony Z3? It has been done im assuming through a third party app, but cant find the app anywhere? edit: Posted in android thread, however i'll leave this here just incase :)
:words:
Although, I checked out the Alternate 4790K Looks compatible with my current motherboard, as it is a LGA1150 socket
how much do you think I can fetch for this laptop? http://shop.lenovo.com/ae/en/laptops/lenovo/y-series/y580/#tab-tech_specs bought summer 2012, battery doesn't hold a charge anymore and the screen sometimes glitches out (problems with the connection I think) so I figure I'd try and sell it as a desktop replacement of some sort.
I got an EVGA 970 with a brand new PC build but my board came DoA. In the meantime while its out, I put most of my stuff into my old mobo, excluding HDD and CPU. I'm lagging worse on every game I play than with my old HD 8850. I think its because of my crappy stock CPU, but I just want to be sure, is it? [editline]3rd August 2015[/editline] its an AMD Phenom II X6 1045T
