Hmm, I might try OBS out with those settings. I'm guessing it's more taxing performance-wise than Shadowplay is?
I tried out your settings with OBS. Video saved in FLV format (is it supposed to do that?) and compression is pretty noticeable. I also noticed halfway through my recorded clip that the framerate went from 60 to 30 and just stayed at 30.
That seemed to do it. Footage looks great and it stays at 60fps! Thanks!
I stumbled upon a weird problem that I've trying to figure out. So I have a monitor with 1 x VGA input and 1 x DVI input. I use the VGA for my PC and the DVI for my PS3 using a HDMI -> DVI adapter. That works well. But as soon as I unplug the VGA cable to my PC, the PS3 connection goes blank. The screen recognizes that there's a cable, but there's just nothing being shown. I disconnect the PS3, and hook up my laptop to the same DVI slot. The monitor wakes up and does what it should do without a single problem. But everytime I try it with the PS3 it just turns blank, unless I also plug in the PC. What the hell? [editline]27th August 2015[/editline] So I plugged the PC VGA cable back and the PS3 screen shows up. I shut the PC down and the PS3 still shows up. I turn off the PSU and the PS3 still shows up. I unplug the VGA cable on my GPU and the PS3 doesn't show up anymore. :hammered:
[del] I have a problem with my microphone suddenly being too quiet. And I can't seem to figure out what did it. I also can't seem to adjust the microphone boos to more than 30 DB [t]http://catpanic.eu/upl/2015-08-28_16-00-57.png[/t] Anyone know of a way I can boos the sound of my microphone? I'm using a Lenovo y50-70. [/del] I took the cheap route and plugged in a usb to audio intup

That seems to be the most likely answer, because I really don't know how else to explain it.
So a Windows 8 install of mine is constantly being pegged for 100% disk utilization. Everything in task manager really only adds up to about 20MBps and my response time is terrible. I've run into this problem plenty of times before, but it's been a while. IIRC there's a pretty quick fix. Anyone have it? Smart's all good.
is superfetch or windows search doing anything? iirc it could just be windows index being a cunt might be best to delete it and start a fresh index which if you got a lot of files might take a really long as time to re-index
Just pegged under system. How helpful.
Check the Performance tab in Task Manager for high disk usage, and in the Details tab check if "System" is using a lot of resources. If that's the case, then the problem is that Prefetch/Superfetch and Windows Search services are running. I used to have the exact some problem until recently when I read up on the issue. I stopped them from running and disabled them from starting up, and since then I haven't had any spikes in Disk usage or laggy responsiveness.
ur having a bad day
Honestly just fuck computers. I've had my real desktop sitting here for almost 3 weeks in pieces because when I get home I just don't want to work on them. I have two monitors connected, and I get this garbage: I don't want some undetected "VGA Monitor" with a bad resolution I can't change, I want my 2nd monitor to be recognized as the Viewsonic VX2035 that it really is. Once in a blue moon, the monitor gets recognized, but after a couple hours, both monitors black out and the 2nd monitor is once again unrecognized, that's annoying. The drivers for the viewsonic do nothing, as they can't detect that that monitor is actually there, so the drivers refuse to initialize. Also, for the 2nd monitor, I have to use an adapter that converts VGA to HDMI.
also its a DVI port, why not get a HDMI cable and get a DVI-HDMI adapter and be golden
My graphics card only has one DVI port and one HDMI port. Ugh, I really don't want to shell out money for a new monitor...

Who is a good SSD manufacturer? Looking to replace my laptop HDD with a SSD.
Crucial are best value. MX100 or MX200 or BX100s Used to recommend but samsung after the 840 evo wouldn't trust. But their 850 Evo seems to be doing really well.
What's wrong with Samsung? I've got a 850 PRO 512TB, going strong.
if you read the post correctly i said 840 evo was bad and then said the 850 evo seems to be doing really well imo i wouldn't trust them but everyone seems to be having good experiences with the 850 evo
I read your post correctly, but I know plenty of people with 840's that have no problems whatsoever.
My graphics card only has one DVI port and one HDMI port. Ugh, I really don't want to shell out money for a new monitor...
If it's a DVI-I port, then use a DVI-to-VGA adapter for the second monitor, and HDMI-to-DVI on the primary. Unless your primary monitor operates at a resolution above 1080P and with higher refresh rate than 60hz, or the DVI port is the DVI-D type, then ur fuckt. DVI-I is basically both digital and analog connections in one plug, and the DVI-to-VGA adapters just break out the analog signals to a VGA plug. Whereas DVI-D only contains the digital lines. My bad then. It does look like a really neat case though
-snip- fixed it
So the back of my surface pro is scratched to pieces (I didn't have a sleeve / case for i) Would that Carbon Fibre sticky stuff be ok to place on the back to cover it up It wouldn't be filling the fan gaps, just wondering since the back gets hot on its own so not sure if it would just toast it
I just got a 3tb WD MyPassport external (actually ordered a 2tb but they sent me a 3) and when I try to transfer things to/from it I immediately get this The 'copying' window stays at that percentage from the start, while the loading bar for the folder window itself loads (the bar that says "Computer > Local Disk H:"). When the folder gets to about 60% loaded the 'copying' window disappears and the file is then successfully transferred. I've tried using multiple drives in conjunction with it and I get the same result every time. It's sending files successfully but it's being weird about it. Any idea why this is?
Check if the physical connector is wonky, and also check the SATA speeds using HWInfo or CrystalDiskInfo. If all else, check if there are any errors with the drive itself.
It's USB, and the connector's fine. I also ran an error test and it showed no issues.
Maybe the filesystem's wacky, reformat it?
Did you check for errors on both the source and destination disks?
im looking at the min/recommended specs for MGSV, and the processors are Processor: "Intel Core i5-4460 (3.40 GHz) or better" and "Intel Core i7-4790 (3.60GHz) or better". mine is a Intel Core i7-3820 (3.60GHz). obviously thats not as good as the recommended one, but is that better than the i5 one? im completely clueless when it comes to processors
Generally, i7's are better than i5's, but you can't just base it off of that. According to CPU Boss, your processor is more powerful than the minimum required CPU, so you should do fine.
