This is bad for all "sides" because AMD will be in a position to do as they please with their prices while nVidia squanders around.
[editline]11:23PM[/editline]
I guarantee there will be a price markup of over 50 dollars per 5000 series card because of the lack of competition.
NVIDIA hurry the fuck up please.
Woodn't you know they really SCREWED themselves

this
I'm bored of fanfaggots and their /g/ memes
I will use an analogy only I and maybe a fellow food lover will get.
"When you're soaking corned beef in brine, the longer you wait, the more tender the meat."
Interesting to see what will come out, all of the guys sitting on 2** series cards need to just calm down and wait, there isn't going to be a game that comes out that will render your GTX 295's useless.

I love food and I didn't get it :saddowns:

Let me revise that, people who got sick of paying corned beef prices at the supermarket so decided to brine their own beef brisket to make their own.

Nah it was a joke, I got it :P
Well fuck me, looks like i will be buying a 5870, then selling it once the 300's come out.
currently saving up for a new case, then I will get a new mobo + ram, THEN I will go for a gpu once my 4870 is rendered "useless."
This was pretty much certain when we heard that it 'may be delayed'.
1.7% etc.

Actually, arma2 came out, and my 295 IS FUCKING USELESS. :saddowns:

the 4870 is still a great card
i have 2 :D
uh, fuck me, now arma2 wont even startup because apparently it was a "bad serial given during install".
[editline]10:19AM[/editline]
stop stealing my automerge >:0

You gain like, 3 fps by switching to a 5870, you know that? In ArmA2 that is.
[editline]10:40AM[/editline]
Also as long as it delivers the promised, it's ok that they delay it (I don't have the money to buy one right now anyways).

i really hope nvidia delivers though, because right now ati is owning the gpu market, and without competition, high prices galore :(
What can't a current top of the line card handle now though? Why are people so worked up about this?

the website is called SEMIaccurate for a reason you dumbfuck
You have to admit he's been pretty damn accurate in his predictions lately. I don't read his site very seriously considering the tone he writes his Nvidia articles with, but he's been pretty spot in his predictions for Fermi.

So I will get 18 fps with a shit looking game? Damn that sucks :saddowns:
The game looks like fucking shit, and it runs even more like shit.
And it doesn't look like it should, but that's due to my i7+295 combo so I'll stop complaining.
You can't deny that the Fermi is a bit on the humongous side.
But I really hope it can work, though at a high price most likely.
Oh I don't deny that. Fermi is a train wreck right now

The game looking and performing like shit seems like a result of poor optimization.

uh, if I could run it I would show you, I played it on the lowest settings on my sisters PC with a 7950GS and it ran better than mine on lowest settings, and looked better. The game isn't supposed to look like it looks.

That sounds like a rather specific error to you, not a common GTX295 problem. Would it really be worth it to buy a new GPU just to play one game?
Meh

Actually, I think ATI would still keep the prices within affordable ranges.
I like to think this is true.

and this is the point where you can tell how bad an ATi fanboy someone is
look at the prices fucking now, they know demand is high so they're putting prices up
if you're ignoring this then you're delusional
dickheads, tom's hardware confirms It is not delayed..
tabloids these days :eng99:
At least this isn't from charlie.
