dickheads, tom's hardware confirms It is not delayed.. tabloids these days :eng99: At least this isn't from charlie.
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvidia-geforce-fermi-delay-gpu,9326.html?xtmc=nvidia&xtcr=10
Update: Nvidia responded to this report saying that it announced in a previous conference call that Fermi would ship sometime in the first quarter of 2010, meaning that there hasn't been any real delay in release time frame.
still a dickhead :mmmsmug:
I will use an analogy only I and maybe a fellow food lover will get. "When you're soaking corned beef in brine, the longer you wait, the more tender the meat." Interesting to see what will come out, all of the guys sitting on 2** series cards need to just calm down and wait, there isn't going to be a game that comes out that will render your GTX 295's useless.
This. [editline]02:48AM[/editline]
Actually, arma2 came out, and my 295 IS FUCKING USELESS. :saddowns:
I give you boxes. [editline]02:49AM[/editline] So you can send your 295 to me :smug:
Love the AMD ATI advert at the bottom.. and once again Nvidia i take my remaining respect back for you. :bravo:
and this is the point where you can tell how bad an ATi fanboy someone is look at the prices fucking now, they know demand is high so they're putting prices up if you're ignoring this then you're delusional
There's a high demand and few cards. That doesn't sound like monopoly to me, that sounds like basic economics. Nvidia on the other hand usually charges huge premium prices on launch, whether or not they have cards in stock.
Not surprised.
I personally try to support AMD because they're kind of the economic underdogs. Their hardware isn't really that inferior to Intel, yet they're barely making any profit and in millions of dollars worth of debt. I mean the way it is now, it really isn't what you would call a fair situation, considering the huge monetary advantage Intel has over AMD. In this case promoting competition requires supporting the underdog, cause if we let AMD die, that's when we're fucked.
This man speaks the truth, however AMD needs to up it's game and produce chips to rival the Intel i series as ATM they're only catering to the budget market.

Nvidia on the other hand usually charges huge premium prices on launch, whether or not they have cards in stock.
Yeah that totally can't happen to Nvidia, only to ATI. And yeah, ATI are being assholes and raising the prices because there is little competition, it's quite obvious.
Well fuck me, looks like i will be buying a 5870, then selling it once the 300's come out.
Why? the 58xx would me more than adequate for any gamer.
[spam] This is I want, and you better fucking want too.
Why? nVidia will probably only lower their prices after 6 months.
Yeah that totally can't happen to Nvidia, only to ATI. And yeah, ATI are being assholes and raising the prices because there is little competition, it's quite obvious.
ATi releases cards cheap, usually drops prices as normal. Now that there's a stock limitation and huge demand, they raise prices. Nvidia releases new cards for obscene prices, and doesn't lower them for a good 6 months whether or not it's selling.
Why? nVidia will probably only lower their prices after 6 months.
That thing in March 2008 was crazy in prices. [editline]07:18AM[/editline] Crazy Cheap.
It's funny how people in here are like "Nvidia sucks" or "ATI sucks" when the thing is some of you have probably never owned a Nvidia card or an ATI card. ATI makes a great bang for the buck, while Nvidia offers a little more for a little more. I've owned ATI cards . . . they were great, Same with Nvidia. They're pretty much on par with eachother. The only con to ATI is that they are a little slow with driver support.
It's funny how people in here are like "Nvidia sucks" or "ATI sucks" when the thing is some of you have probably never owned a Nvidia card and an ATI card.
fixed, since the chances of never having an nvidia OR ati card is fairly low in this thread. Oh, and 8800 ultra launch price.
I don't care if they delay it, I'm not one of those "oh shit it's taking long so it has to be crap gotta buy an ATI because they like fast and rush out products which look cool". I hope that Fermi is going to rock and all those ATI guys are gonna think to themselves: "oh god, why couldn't I just wait ? "

Also, nvidia seems to have rebranded another part.

[editline]11:25PM[/editline] Why are you linking a Charlie article about an nVidia card? Idiot.
I think we all know the answer.
They just need to hurry up with a quality product to combat the high-end ATI cards and drive prices down. When I upgrade is pretty much fully dependent on nVidia, which sucks.
and this is the point where you can tell how bad an ATi fanboy someone is look at the prices fucking now, they know demand is high so they're putting prices up if you're ignoring this then you're delusional
You completely didn't read the second part of my post. Good job. And it's not a fanboy for hoping a company will keep prices down. That's just hopeful thinking. Even though it wont happen.... :frown:
I think nvidia are doing this so they can see what ATI do with there prices then they are going to strike back with CHEAPER prices when they release.
I think nvidia are doing this so they can see what ATI do with there prices then they are going to strike back with CHEAPER prices when they release.
That would actually be a smart move.
That would actually be a smart move.
Yes it would. Nvidia would take the market back by storm.
