wow, already
If Valve was so fast like Opera team, we'd play HL3 already, because Ep3 would be released two years ago.
Just installed the RC, must agree, fucking awesome.
Wait, is there a way to disable the tabs in superbar? Kinda annoying that I can't just click on it and it opens the browser.
I like to see that Google Chrome is in the 2nd place, FAR ahead from Mozilla Firefox.
Now that it has extensions, im sticking to chrome.
All the others are somewhat slower on my pc. Slower to open, open webpages, using add-ons

Ctrl + F12 -> First Drop down box.
Also why doesn't this RC include <video> support? Wasn't it like to be included?
Also why doesn't this RC include <video> support? Wasn't it like to be included?
Well <video> should be working properly, along with seeking. Weird.
Then it's YouTube's fault. I'll see if masking works.
Wait a sec, what did it say? I´m not sure if I remember correctly, but Opera´s support of <video> is limited to theora while safari/chrome suports only h264.
Edit: I´ve just tried to play few vids on youtube, it hit or miss mostly. Never thought <video> support would boil down to squabbles about codecs.
Edit: Found this, it sums everything up nicely
Codecs — the fly in the ointment
Opera supports the Ogg Theora video codec:
Theora is a free and open video compression format from the Xiph.org Foundation...it can be used to distribute film and video online and on disc without the licensing and royalty fees or vendor lock-in associated with other formats.
Firefox and Chrome also support Theora. However, Safari doesn't, preferring instead to provide native support for the H.264 codec (which Chrome also supports). Therefore, we need to encode our videos twice, once as Theora and once as H.264, add alternative <source> elements with appropriate type attributes to the video and let the browser download the format that it can display. Note that in this case we do not provide a src attribute in the <video> element itself:
<video width=320 height=240 controls poster=turkish.jpg>
<source src=turkish.ogv type=video/ogg>
<source src=turkish.mp4 type=video/mp4>
Download the <a href=video.ogg>Turkish dancing masterclass video</a>
</video>
Enter this into your address bar, disable it, save, then restart the browser.

Jesus Christ, RC2 and RC3 released already.

Woah.
Have been away on vacation so I didn't notice the RC, but damn this is great.
Finally it does the same on XP with the tabs as it does on Vista/7. Great for my school laptop.

Apple are cunts. All browsers should just support the Ogg Theora codec.
Apple are killing the open web by only supporting that one format. I say every site should just not use the H.264 codec so those Apple fucks are forced to switch to the universal format.
And shame on Google using the H.264 codec for Youtube. That's a real cheap way to promote their browser.
Just noticed, full screen tab bar support is funky.

Cool, RC2, 3 and 4 in 9 hours.

Until Theora has hardware acceleration, it might as well not exist. Pleasuring ourselves over a Free and Open web won't change that.
RC5 is out.

I just love their dedication, but well, it does not alleviate my fears. Too unpolished for my taste. We´ll see where it goes, and hopefully, it will go to a proper final.
Beta 2 is glitchy when using facebook chat client, and sometimes fails to render sites such as wikipedia despite the data being loaded.

We're up to RC5 now. Try that out
[editline]06:42PM[/editline]
The final version has been released.
http://www.opera.com/
go go go
[editline]06:44PM[/editline]
goddammit bump this fuck
Bump.
Released.
For those who complained about the tiny gap between the tabs and the top of the screen:
Getting a skin like this removes that gap and makes it more like Chrome. http://my.opera.com/community/customize/skins/info/?id=9101
Final version is way more stable and better than the beta.
I'm trying Opera again. Will it convert me from a Firefox user this time? We'll see.
You can add it yourself if you wish.
In your own post.
It's a revolutionary idea but I don't think people are ready for it yet.
