is it just me or do i have to type the URL in like www.facepunch.com to get it to work? i cant just type facepunch.com like i can in chrome?
anyways i tested it myself on my computer and Chrome still goes faster than Opera. even though Opera feels very professional and smother than chrome.
[editline]01:58AM[/editline]
well at least Chrome starts faster than opera. damnit it just loaded up a few minutes ago and now it wont start
Here is another thing with it:
http://facepunchstudios.com/
On any other browser this will take you to the splash screen, a big, red Facepunch logo and clicking it takes you to the forums.
However,
http://www.facepunchstudios.com/
is the page for Garry's company, Facepunch Studios, and has no link for the forums.
Entering the top link, however, automatically inserts the "www", taking you to a different page.
[editline]09:03PM[/editline]
Actually, for some reason now Chrome automatically inserts the "www".
this is... odd.
It just started doing it literally as I am writing this.
www.facepunchstudios.com and facepunchstudios.com are different domains, setup differently.
The former has a single A record that points to 67.19.72.202, the latter has a CNAME to ghs.google.com, which eventually ends up to 74.125.113.121
Both eventually end up to the "splashscreen", one that doesn't take you to the forums.
The splash screen totally took me to the forums, what are you on about?
It was a big red face, like the logo. Clicking it took you to the front page, or http://www.facepunch.com/
However, for some reason, I can't get to it now.

The two domains above have a facepunch logo that you can click on, to see the logo at full-size.
They also have nothing to do with facepunch.com.
But the first one USED to link me to the forums. It was red, not gray.
It stopped doing that today, however.
Maybe it was something strange saved in my browser's memory that was never cleared.
Also, when I go onto a full screen application like TF2, the status bars like to turn black and vanish.
Not really, I have been annoyed with Firefox being slow lately so I decided to try out Opera. It was even slower. It is not some scientific study that should be cited for some reason, but just my experience. I have it on the turbo mode now. It seems to be doing better. We'll see.
Lot's of sites aren't working with Opera 10.5 yet, such as facebook (can't login) and many drop down menus.

Facebook works fine for me

Facebook works perfectly, they only time it didn't work was 3 or 4 builds before the first beta.
I had some problems with facebook at 10.10 but it's fixed itself somehow

The facebook issue was fixed fucking ages ago. Get the goddamn beta.
Been testing Opera for a few days and so far to the eyes it's matching my Firefox's speed exactly for me. Opera started out awfully slow after installing, but the speed increased the more I used it. Crashed once for me, but it's a beta so I can't make that a negative. Tho so far I absolutely love the look, feel, and smoothness of Opera, but small things such as the lack of side scroll and addons keep me going back to Firefox.
Just installed it. It's very nice. Not sure if I'd switch from this to Firefox though, unless I have some sort of YouTube video downloader, as well as WOT.

I once had a user script which integrated into YouTube for that, there should be one for WoT as well. You can also get a keepvid bookmarklet on your personal bar.

What do I do? Every time I click a '.js' script, it takes me to a page with loads of coding or whatnot on it.

Opera Javascripts tutorial for Opera 10.50:
1: Click the Opera icon (big red thingy in the top).

2: Hover over settings, then click preferences.

3: Go to the advanced tab.

4: On the left side menu, chose "Content".

5: Click the button which says: "JavaScript Options..."

6: On the bottom where it says "User JavaScript folder" click on the button that says "Choose..."

7: Select your folder or make a new one.
If you already did the previous steps, you can start from here when adding more scripts.
8: Put the JavaScript files you want in the folder.
9: Restart Opera.
Opera is great, and it works perfectly for me. It loads pages in an instant, and doesn't use inches of room near the addressbar like firefox and IE. The thing I love most about it is how easy it is to customize.
9: Restart Opera.
AFAIK you don't have to restart. I might be wrong though.
Right click->Edit site preferences->Scripting
Shorter way to get there

It's a cool feature, why would you want to get rid of it?
It's a cool feature, why would you want to get rid of it?
Because it's annoying as fuck and not really useful
Its just pointless really.
You convinced me!
