Perhaps you had Opera Turbo on.
I can confirm that I did not.
Does anyone else get this? When I close the browser, it seems to forget to remove the tray icons so they just all start piling up until I mouse over them.

Oh man the customizavle speed dial size is tempting me to switch.
Oh man the customizavle speed dial size is tempting me to switch.
It's in 10.10 too
So it's just a external application to automatically update urlfilter.ini?
Yes.
Just ran the newest version of Opera 10.50 against Chrome 5 in sunspider, and Opera got 339.2ms while Chrome 5 got 356.8ms. Which means that on this run of the sunspider test, Chrome was 4,6% slower than Opera. Can't run peacekeeper now as it seems to fuck up at my school. I think they blocked it.
By a whole, shopping 17.6ms. Such a difference. Seriously. At those speeds, you don't notice a difference.
Not exactly the point. It just shows the current state of the competition in terms of browser speeds. It was only a few years ago when Opera was the fastest browser available. It wasn't until Chrome was released that Firefox really pushed their browser speed up a notch, finally beating out Opera but still leagues behind Chrome. It's nice to see that Opera has pushed out a release that really competes with Chrome. Competition is always good.
I don't see the reason for running numbers like that when the average person won't see the difference tho. I don't even think the hardest of hardcore browser junkies are going to see that. Running the test myself, I got an 8.6ms difference between the two, Opera being the better. But it's still only 8.6ms. This is like "Why do people prefer Mac over Windows." It's just preference. You can put all the numbers you want out...but I'm still going to like Chrome more than Opera.

The speed differences are negligible in the real world, yes. The tests just technically put Opera at the top. It's an impressive enough feat to even match Chrome. It's good to have all the browsers pushing towards speed.
I think its quite a nice browser, I used opera about 3 years ago and think it has some very nice UI improvements. One thing thats abit annoying is when you double click on the top bar, instead of maximizing the window it makes a new tab!! :@

Double click above it and it maximizes the window. I often open new tabs by double clicking, so this I'm glad the feature is still there.
It's in 10.10 too
I know they have had it earlier but as said previously I haven't used it.

They fixed something with bookmarks too. And it's just a matter of time until they will release 10.50.
By a whole, shopping 17.6ms. Such a difference. Seriously. Look at how javascript has completely exploded in the last year or two in terms of functionality thanks to JS execution speeds
New build http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/2010/02/20/weekend-snapshot [editline]07:17PM[/editline] Wasn't there someone here complaining about how clicking Opera in the Taskbar opens up tab previews instead of opening the browser? You can disable tab previews by going here: opera:config#UserPrefs|UseWindows7TaskbarThumbnails
Yes, adblock. Hooray now Opera users too can leech upon the services of websites and drive ad supported businesses into the ground.
Yes, adblock. Hooray now Opera users too can leech upon the services of websites and drive ad supported businesses into the ground.
Opera could always block ads. If anything, Opera's manually blocking is better for websites because it allows you to selectively block the things you see. But why am I bothering to respond to your comment? What you said is completely irrelevant to the thread and only targets a small demographic of Opera users. Plus, I don't think anybody would care. [editline]09:20PM[/editline] Cool shit guys: In the latest build, they made it so the "O" button can be freely removed and moved in the Appearance settings.
In the latest build, they made it so the "O" button can be freely removed and moved in the Appearance settings.
Rated useful. Give us the s-shot.
Rated useful. Oh, cool. I will probably put it in the bottom.
[editline]09:20PM[/editline] Cool shit guys: In the latest build, they made it so the "O" button can be freely removed and moved in the Appearance settings.
Its always been moveable/removeable.
Its always been moveable/removeable.
It used to be only removable, meaning you couldn't get it back. They addressed that issue in this build. "DSK-279844 O-menu button can be removed with no way of getting it back" http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/2010/02/20/weekend-snapshot

Probably why I never noticed it.
