Fraps has never lagged for me. Even when recording a game on the same disk.
I don't like WeGame because you can't edit most video files, it'll crash. Xfire is good but is glitchy, mostly being that you may have to restart xfire and your game a couple times before it registers it(Tried to record half life 2 and it didn't list it down). Fraps is good, it doesn't slow my gaming much, probably because I play games that aren't very demanding of my pc. So go with fraps, its good for the price, and anyone would reccomend it. Free on the other hand, I would suggest Xfire...
Fraps 1.9d is fully freeware, but is limited to 640x480 and has no sound.
The videos XFire gives me don't work in any video editors. They use some strange codec. I like Wegame the best for recording, its clips work fine in any editor, I just wish it would work with more games.
