I have been looking around a lot for good headphones, and I've come to the conclusion that anything mainstream sucks big dicks.
My brother and friend have the same set of skullcandy headphones. I have no idea what people see in them. They have this funky rotating system for the ear-muffs, which I can't see lasting too long, they don't stay on my head or my friend's head easily and the sound quality is OK. Not wonderful, just OK. For $50 I would expect a little more.
My Blackberry earbuds with different sized earpieces are fine for me right now :).

I have a pair of in-ear Skullcandy headphones and the only thing I don't like about them is that the one in my left ear always feels looser than the one in my right. But that's what all of them feel like. Maybe one of my ears is bigger than the other? OH MY GOD

UUUUGGGHHH! I know the feeling. I use some headphones for gaming, and they're an absolute bitch with glasses.
I'd love to understand headphones, and how to choose them, but I just cant seem to figure it out, and I'm poor.

You can get an amp pretty cheap at a pawn shop, I got mine for $40. Could probably dip even lower if you hit yard sales or thrift stores.

I have the Sennheiser PC 350, best headset I ever owned. Really good for blocking out external noise too :)
No I'm not a rich bastard, they were half off at amazon (maybe they still are?)
