skullcrusher's have DEAFENING sound, they have subwoofers built it which is immense... I just wouldn't use them for general listening

Last I checked $400-500 Grados are probably not going to sound sex in a store considering they were probably open air SR325i's or something and being driven by ipods. Then again you probably went to a store that had all the Bose/Monster/etc products on display with a few lowend Grados/ATH models priced at 5x their usual price to comfort you on your terrible purchase.

You need external battery for the "subwoofer" to work, and when it's off they sounded like shit. It's also mono

I think its the fact that you paid $300 for them, and generally people would think you were ripped off, someone posted they knew someone who got beats for £30....
my opinion is that:
Dr Dre Beats are good quality but overpriced compared to other headphones that have better all round quality at the same price range

anyone who compares Sennheiser to Skull Candy probably doesn't have much of an interest in audio
when one frequency is louder, the others are relatively lower. disparity. so when you blast bass in your ears, you're neglecting to leave room for the actual texture of the sound. it's terrible.

that was my old gaming headset and those hurt like FUCK. they always made the top of my ears RAW gaaaaah I taped the cord together later on with electrical tape because the wire covering was coming lose and the sound kept going in and out even when I bought them new. now I got some nice LG headphones.

I recently bought the Premium V1 Zune Headphones on Amazon for cheap 10 dollars since the V2 pretty much MADE them have to put a sale on it. anyways

they block out all other peoples voices. I can still hear them talking but only if I am listening to THEM and not my music. however they are the nasty spongy things that go into your ear. there are 3 different sizes of the "spongy thing" but none really fit my ears. They do give great bass and overall they sound fucking amazing. just a bit uncomfortable and they always fall out of my ear.
the magnet Zune puts on the headphones are really great sometimes to keep them together. like the ones you get when you BUY the player, but the Premium magnets aren't powerful at all and are really only there for storing in the case they come with which is really nice because I don't want my headphones tangled up and ruined but it takes some skill to actually wrap it around right so the jack fits in with its slot.

At the end of the day, opinions are all that matter. Opinions are why people make choices. Saying that we should just follow others' opinions blindly like a herd of sheep is not valid.
