Ok, But it shouldn't as my laptop is connected through our wireless router and it has a firewall or wouldn't that stop it. I do have Anti-virus.

As your post is 4 hours old, I've been pondering my reply for a long time.
Well, here we go.
I like Vista and 7 mostly because of the additional features, but Aero is a nice touch, especially on 7. You may say it's just eye candy, but it just makes the operating system a joy to use. When I bounce back to XP, it feels cold and hard next to the soft organic beauty that is Windows 7.
Besides, don't all serious programmers use Linux operating systems anyway?
