I heard this thing will come out in Germany for 499€ as the Milestone (on O2) on Nov 9th. So it's not Verizon/US only.
Plug iphone into itunes. itunes compares the os on the phone to a jailbroken one. If it matches, no warranty for you, or it simply bricks the damn phone as you broke the tos.
You're an idiot. If you have a jailbroken phone, it doesn't connect with itunes.
You're an idiot. If you have a jailbroken phone, it doesn't connect with itunes.
You're an idiot. Jailbroken phones connect to iTunes just fine.

Can you quit calling each other idiots. Be more civil towards each other, christ.
I found out I only get a maximum of 100$ credit towards my purchase through Verizon. For one line, on my plan of 5 phones. Sadly I also found out that you are required to pay the tac on the full 800$ the phone costs before contract so... Best buy it is.
This thread is now about the new commercial:

Does anyone know if you can use your iTunes music with this phone? Obviously not the music with DRM still but how about the iTunes plus music?
Does anyone know if you can use your iTunes music with this phone? The files are m4a. I don't think such format is supported in Android. However, you can use any simple converter to convert them to mp3 or whatever. I recommend MediaCoder (free, open source) for the job.

Im going to go and pre-order later today.
Have fun paying nearly 800USD for a phone that isn't even made for use in your country....
D'oh, it's gonna have GSM connectivity of course. And I'm gonna get it with a contract.
Yay! I just pre-ordered. And I'm number 69 in line. :smug:
is a man ontop of you? ^
Yay! I just pre-ordered. And I'm number 69 in line. :smug:
I'm first in line :smug:
You're an idiot. If you have a jailbroken phone, it doesn't connect with itunes.
What are you talking about? [editline]09:24PM[/editline]
You are both total morons, apple could probably kill it the with the data plan all iphones require anyways.
What if it's an Ipod? Besides, they have software now that blocks the Apple killswitch.
What are you talking about? [editline]09:24PM[/editline] What if it's an Ipod?
Ignore him, he's talking out of his ass.
About piracy: 80,000,000 users have Iphones (and Ipods. From this point forward Iphone refers to both Iphone and Ipod). 5 percent of that, or about 4,000,000, have jail broken their Iphones. And roughly 38 percent of that, about 1,500,000, pirate their apps. About 1.8 percent of all Iphone users pirate their apps. Is that a big number in the grand scheme of things? I don't know, but I'm just putting some facts on the table. http://macdailynews.com/index.php/weblog/comments/22740/ http://justanotheriphoneblog.com/wordpress/iphone-os-software/what-percentage-of-iphones-are-jailbroken-less-than-10-percent [editline]09:52PM[/editline] And you people who say that jailbreaking your Iphone will somehow make iTunes reject the device and then inject malicious code that will destroy the device are acting plain stupid and are terribly uninformed.
Picking my phone up in twenty minutes.

It's not like Apple are going to simply brick four million iDevices just because we ran some custom software on them. They will never do that, neither do they have the power to do it. They won't even try. [editline]03:08AM[/editline]
Picking my phone up in twenty minutes.
Do remember to do a review.
I'm getting an Eris. They're cheaper :)
http://www.billshrink.com/blog/total-cost-of-ownership-motorola-droid-versus-iphone-3gs-versus-palm-pre/ Interesting. Owning a Droid costs exactly the same as owning an iPhone 3GS according to this link.
I'll have mine tomorrow afternoon. Been setting up all my apps and all that, got IRC/GTalk working, multitouch is enabled on third party programs and overall it feels fucking fantastic. I've used many phones and this is the absolute best.
I ENVY YOU! Wanna jump on linelor's vent and talk about it? Please
