It's the best device I've ever used.

Also, NES, SNES, OR GBA?
I'm picking up my Eris tomorrow.

Not as cool as a droid man.
Anyone got some cool Android programs to share?
I'm loving my GSM HTC Hero.
Does that run 1.x or 2.0?
1.5.
Not as cool as a droid man.
How so? It's much cheaper and is kind of the same. And it'll hopefully get an upgrade to Android 2.0 in the future.
Oh, But the Droid is cooler. I have yet to see a sweet advert for the Eris.
Even if it did run 1.5, couldn't you technically upgrade to 2.0 because it's open source?
Thank Benji, he pointed it out to me. He just can't moderate Hardware and Software.
I'd probably get one of these if I used my phone enough for it to be worth it. Looks pretty awesome.
He should know better than that by now. j00got0wned has been warned and if he continues to post as he has been he's going to be permabanned.
It's one of the most basic rules. Do not come into a thread and reply "iPhone is better" etc.

Isn't it called threadshitting?
Does the Droid's nondefault programs have multitouch?
Got an email back saying there's no info, and that it's called Milestone in Europe.
I guess Europe doesn't go for cheesy flashy stuff like the Droid ads. Although I liked the red eye thing.

Did you use the Youtube widget that allows you to upload directly?
Yeah.

God damnit I can't find anything with android at that price here in Portugal, everything is expensive as fuck, I can't manage to import anything either, I was looking at the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic at 220€ but now that I've looked at Android and knowing it's open source I want one. This Droid one at $199 would be great but it's probably Verizon locked and there is no Verizon here, and I doubt the ship internationally.
Someone give me some tips please!

Also, here we use GSM.

Verizon is CDMA, so you'd have no luck running it in Portugal due to GSM.
How much would you be looking to spend on the phone at max?
I don't live there, but what provider do you use? ICE?
I hope the Droid is Android Dev Phone 2
Most things on this phone look O.K., but what's the point of having multi-touch if there's an external keyboard? If you have a keyboard like that you might as well have a trackball like on the Blackberry Curve.
What does multitouch have to do with typing?

Typing.

So can you use the touchscreen to type as well?
What are you going to do type two letters at once? How does multitouch make a difference.

Yep.

For droid owners having trouble with battery life, try turning auto brightness off and setting it to the lowest setting, I still have a 90% charge 2 and a half hours later, while listening to pandora for over an hour and a half.. This could just be the fact that I'm connected to my home wifi and I turned off Latitude off, but hey, this is very little battery use.
Yep.
Oh. Then that's not so bad then.

I went in Friday to check on the phone, which seems very good, but after having a bad runin with a Verizon customer sales person here I am with an iPhone. I wish I had gotten more of a chance with The droid but watcha gonna do?

Although after having a touch for a year the familirarity is nice.
