God... I gotta decide between the Droid or this badass motherfucker
What is that?
Alex_DeLarge and j00g0t0wnd duking it out, place ya bets ladies and gentlemen.
I just really hate the iPhone because of the useless applications, the shitty keyboard and yet people insist it's a "business phone". [editline]10:05PM[/editline] It's the Motorola Aura, dunno if it'll come to the US but it sure as hell looks like something out of 2001: A Space Odyssey or some generic sci-fi movie.

The applications are useful as hell. Stop searching for fart apps. And it can be a business phone. Look at the Business section every once in a while.
That is a sexy phone. Hopefully it won't cost much if it ever comes out in the UK.

Yeah, you're trolling. Move along, everyone.
You say the touch screen sucked? Yeah, you're trolling. Move along, everyone.
It does suck, especially when using the godforsaken keyboard they developed. Fuck that, I'd rather go back to the numpad... At least that was accurate.
The android commercial is fairly bad. The part after all the iDont bullshit, wtf was that? They could have done a much better job on this. They should have highlighted the phone's uniqueness and stuff. you mean we don't use hockey pucks anymore?!
We don't have official pictures so it's possible that the engineering samples in these don't have fully working keyboards.
Apparently the term "DROID" is associated with Star Wars and they needed to license the term... [editline]09:20PM[/editline] God... I gotta decide between the Droid or this badass motherfucker [img_thumb]http://img.gsmarena.com/vv/pics/motorola/motorola-aura-1.jpg[/img_thumb]
You were just a few posts prior bashing apple's "gimmicks" and you honestly consider buying that phone? That made my morning.
It's kinda sad how even after 2 and a half years almost nothing has been as good as an iPhone. Let's hope this finally gives Android the showing it deserves.
It's all about marketing.
God... I gotta decide between the Droid or this badass motherfucker
what the hell
Point is, if it's under or around the $150 mark, "normal"(middle class) people will be able to afford it. If that happens Android just took the leap into the most widely used OS. People develop for what's popular, if someone just entering the work-force can get it, then it can easily outsell the iPhone purely on up-front pricing.
This certainly won't be - it's a high end device. And $150 is VERY cheap for a smartphone

I should imagine the contract is 10 years long and a million $'s a month but eh. iPhone can be somewhat cheap
Well I can right-click motherfucker....
Macs have been to able to right click for yearssssss
Reminds me of: Many, many people will be offended. And I'll laugh. And laugh.
It's sexier irl tbh
Was looking through the appstore, much more impressive than the iPhone/iPod Touch one...
Wheres the app store?
Was looking through the appstore, much more impressive than the iPhone/iPod Touch one...
Haha, no.
Haha, no.
Okay Mr. Applefanboy, whatever you say.
Okay Mr. Applefanboy, whatever you say.
I hate Apple, but the iPod touch/iPhone are the only two things they ever got right so far. You on the other hand make false assumption about everything. You don't even own one, so what do you know? You think you know everything just because you can open up iTunes and look at the top applications. Pathetic.

I can honestly say with an educated opinion that it's a piece of shit compared to the other phones out there.
Also, the Android Market has, what, 10,000 applications (most of which are shit, by the way) while the Appstore has 85,000, growing at a rate of 10,000 per month. Ooh yeah, such harsh competition. :downs: [editline]04:00AM[/editline]
I had an iPod Touch and fucking hated it, used a friend's iPhone 3GS and hated it. Numbers don't mean shit.

Stop trolling, please. And while you're at it, give this a good read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_digital_distribution_platforms_for_mobile_devices
To be honest, I really don't even give a shit, I have barely used the Android platform with the exception of working with the SDK. Numbers don't mean anything, of course anything created by Apple will sell well, that is nothing to take note of. As a product sells well, so will the community and when the community expands, developers come along with it and that explains why the appstore has so much more. I just honestly believe it's the superior platform because of the open source development without having to "tax" the people involved with the development of applications, also take into account of the fact that you have diversity when it comes to the type of phone you use, the provider you have and the price that comes along with it. In the end, I honestly do believe that the Android will be the superior platform, even if the iPhone technically sells more because it has the support of Apple. Take into consideration that the iPhone has been out for more than the past year also...

The average consumer unfortunately doesn't give a rat's ass about whether the cellphone supports open source or not. The average user doesn't care how long it's been out. The iPhone is obviously the superior choice because there's a fucking app for anything, and I mean that wholeheartedly. It's like looking through Google, you'll almost ALWAYS find what you're looking for. With Android, that's not going to happen, and the fact that it's free to develop for means there will be no quality control whatsoever, therefore you'll start seeing shit applications that people just developed out of boredom more than anything.
