Meh, for the time being, I'm without a phone. Hope to Christ it's soon enough...
I hope it is soon too, right now I just have this krzr phone that is falling apart and this looks pretty sweet.
It's like looking through Google, you'll almost ALWAYS find what you're looking for. With Android, that's not going to happen, and the fact that it's free to develop for means there will be no quality control whatsoever, therefore you'll start seeing shit applications that people just developed out of boredom more than anything.
Publishing apps for Android is not free, there is a fee, just like Apple.
Publishing apps for Android is not free, there is a fee, just like Apple.
Ah, I re-read that wiki. 25 dollars for life. Whereas Apple charges 99 dollars a year. Goddamn, haven't they got enough money already?
Goddamn, haven't they got enough money already?
this is a silly question
wow verizon can suck my dick 30bucks a month for data charges hell no
wow verizon can suck my dick 30bucks a month for data charges hell no
Yeah, but the service is amazing. You really get what you pay for. Plus, the support is good.
Yeah, but the service is amazing. You really get what you pay for. I pay 75 dollars a month for 6GB data, 800 minutes, unlimited texting. Consider yourself very lucky with that offer that Verizon made.
Meh, for the time being, I'm without a phone. Hope to Christ it's soon enough...
Im in the same boat.
no it is 30 onto the 50 I already pay
Ouch. Yeah that's pretty brutal. [editline]04:24AM[/editline] I suppose the trick is to wait for promotions. A few months before I got my iPhone 3G, Rogers had a promotion that included the same things I have now but for like 60 dollars a month. Unfortunately I still went to a private school in the middle of no where, so I had to wait until I graduated to get it. Still worth it, anyway. A minimum wage job can pay the monthly bill off in around seven hours.
wow verizon can suck my dick 30bucks a month for data charges hell no
Why have a smart phone in the year 2009 without the data plan is my question...
http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/10/22/motorola-droid-makes-appearance-on-motorolas-site/ HURRAH!
 [editline]10:04PM[/editline] The page is gone though
Hrm, looking through the comments, I see many people bitching about the processor speeds. 550MHz is actually very impressive to have in a device that small. The iPhone 3GS has a 600MHz processor and it's snappy as hell. 550MHz plus the fact that Android is less bloated/shiny should mean that it is very snappy as well. Also, even though the phone isn't out, they got some reviews and comparisons vs. iPhone 3GS. Has anyone heard anything?
Yeah, they should be out this thursday.
I really don't care about support. and no it isn't worth it 360.00 a year is not worth a little web browsing, I think I will go with a Iphone and sprint unlimited data is only 49+texting and 500minutes
The iPhone does not work with the Sprint network.
The iPhone does not work with the Sprint network.
Yep. Sprint doesn't use SIM cards.
Yeah, they should be out this thursday.
No, that's the announcement.
No, that's the announcement.
Well, Kinda. If they are going to be announced thursday they will most likely be released Monday or That day.
Well, Kinda. If they are going to be announced thursday they will most likely be released Monday or That day.
Uh. Yeah you really don't understand the product development and release cycle do you.
You still don't get it. The average consumer unfortunately doesn't give a rat's ass about whether the cellphone supports open source or not. The average user doesn't care how long it's been out. The iPhone is obviously the superior choice because there's a fucking app for anything, and I mean that wholeheartedly. It's like looking through Google, you'll almost ALWAYS find what you're looking for. With Android, that's not going to happen, and the fact that it's free to develop for means there will be no quality control whatsoever, therefore you'll start seeing shit applications that people just developed out of boredom more than anything.
The platform that offers a simple, intuitive, and open set of development tools is the one that attracts the most customers because "There's an app for that."
The platform that offers a simple, intuitive, and open set of development tools is the one that attracts the most customers because "There's an app for that."
There you go.
:smugissar:
There you go.
I think Android is a much better development platform. Apple is very crappy to it's app developers, and it requires a Mac for development.
I think Android is a much better development platform. It's only better because it is more popular, but then again, that's because it got here first.
Comp what happened to your mod status? I can't wait for the android. Open source FTW!

The iPhone's SDK just sucks total arse in comparison to the Android's. The only reason there are more apps is because of the launch 2 years prior to the release of the first Android phone and the number of owners, combine that with the iPod Touch's userbase, can't really count those because that's cheating.

Babble about it elsewhere.
