Also, stop arguing about the iphone in here. This is the droid thread, not the argument thread.
A little late to the party, aren't you.
I'm not late. I've been watching this thread for a while without posting. It was just getting tiring listening to you two bitch. One thing that I dislike is how much this phone is going to cost, even with a contract.
200$ isn't anything in regards to phones...

Expect it to cost around the same.
The 6th of November. Oh yes.
It costs 299 on contract, which after a rebate, they'll send you a debit card which can be used anywhere that debit cards are used as an acceptable form of currency, meh, don't know why they just don't give cash....
I thought it was the "HTC Hero"? I've been following the droid for a little bit now, when one of my friends told me about it. Also: iPhone is good, Droid is good. It just depends who your provider is, pricing, etc. And in my case, I might try making something, and since you have to pay first for iPhone (as well as a required mac OS), and I'm a lazy bastard, I'm going with Android. But I don't think Droid will be able to handle 3D all that well, while supposedly the iPhone can. It has OpenGL, though!
Huh?
But I don't think Droid will be able to handle 3D all that well, while supposedly the iPhone can. It has OpenGL, though!
The iPhone 3GS does use OpenGL ES 2.0, and it handles 3D amazingly. It pretty much gives graphics on par or better than the PSP. Android apparently supports OpenGL ES 1.0, but whatever.
Its 199$ after rebate. J00 Gtfo No one gives a fucking shit about the iphone.
Development for the iPhone requires a mac. It doesn't work on Windows PCs. I'll get you a link in the sec. And I don't have much experience myself with the iPhone, nor phones in general. I've seen others use it though. Works just like a smart phone in 2009 should. [editline]08:07PM[/editline] But yeah, I'm excited for the droid.
Its 199$ after rebate. J00 Gtfo No one gives a fucking shit about the iphone.
I was responding to his question. Go baww about it elsewhere.
Yes, I know that, but most people don't get an iPhone to dick around with the SDK.
Meh. I like dicking around with shit. Odd syntax. Also, in case anyone hadn't noticed, the Droid page is back on the Motorola site, as of today. http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/US-EN/Consumer-Product-and-Services/Mobile-Phones/ci.Motorola-DROID-US-EN.alt I want the multimedia station, if I were to get any accessories. And games. Lots of them. Good way to escape the boredom of school.

You can browse through the Android Market right now and that's pretty much what the Droid will probably support.
Preordered at Best Buy.
Does anyone know if that $199 price is with or without a 2 year contract? [editline]04:56PM[/editline] at bestbuy
With.
With.
Thanks
http://phones.verizonwireless.com/motorola/droid/# Droid site was updated
Loving the inaccuracy.
Loving the inaccuracy.
What inaccuracy :smug:
What inaccuracy :smug:
iDon’t have a real keyboard Doesn't matter, the touchscreen is accurate enough. And the 'real' keyboard is fucking tiny, it's not like you'll be a typing guru on it. iDon’t run simultaneous apps Bullshit. The iPhone never closes official apps, it backgrounds them. Having a processes manager teaches you that. And if you want to have 3rd apps running in the background, that's what Backgrounder is for. iDon’t take night shots Bullshit. Tons of apps in the Appstore offer image enhancement for night shots. iDon’t allow open development Cydia, Rock, Installer, Icy, etc. iDon’t customize. Cydia, Rock, Installer, Icy, etc. iDon’t run widgets Cydia, Rock, Installer, Icy, etc. iDon’t have interchangeable batteries. The only valid point. Even then, I never had problems with this anyway so I can't sympathize with the people bitching about it.
If apple had their choice that wouldn't even be legal.
Won't stop anyone if it was suddenly illegal. And "if" doesn't apply here.
Won't stop anyone if it was suddenly illegal. And "if" doesn't apply here.
Okay I'm tired of your iPhone nazism. Those points on the DROID page are quite valid, if Apple had their way, the iPhone would be locked down to all fuck and would not be able to compete with the Android phones coming out. [editline]07:30PM[/editline]
iDon’t have a real keyboard Doesn't matter, the touchscreen is accurate enough. And it's huge.
