Okay I'm tired of your iPhone nazism.
You mean you're tired of how I'm right.
Those points on the DROID page are quite valid,
No.
if Apple had their way, the iPhone would be locked down to all fuck and would not be able to compete with the Android phones coming out.
"If" is not a valid tool in this argument. Apple clearly didn't have their way as much as they had hoped, so too bad.
Also, I've used the keyboard on the DROID, it kicks the iPhone's ass in terms of typing feel and overall accuracy in typing. And it's huge.
You likely never used an iPhone in your life. Or you tried out a friend's for five minutes. Or you're biased.
Pick two.
Awaiting further crying.
Just ignore j00g0t0wnd. In my experiences debating with him, he's an uptight, pretentious asshole who has nothing better to do than argue moot (and not to mention factually incorrect) points over the internet.
I have an iPod Touch and an enV Touch. Typing on the enV Touch's full keyboard beats my iPod's any day of the week. Nothing feels more comfortable than physical buttons.
Fixed.
Fucking Fanboy.
More BAWWWing detected. Solution? Attempt to knock some sense into subject.
We're talking about things each phone is capable of. All iPhones are capable of jailbreaking. If users don't jailbreak it, it's their fault. It's like bitching there aren't any games because they didn't download anything from the Appstore. Jailbreaking is piss-easy nowadays, so the difficulty isn't an excuse either.

Give me some examples of how I've been factually incorrect.
The excuse is that they don't want to void the warranty on their fucking phone.
The excuse is that they don't want to void the warranty on their fucking phone.
Jailbreaking does void the warranty. Restoring with iTunes, however, also 'restores' the warranty.
You mean you're tired of how I'm right.
No, I'm not tired of how you're right, everyone has opinions, yours are obviously pushed towards Apple camp.
No.
How is "No." a valid argument?
You likely never used an iPhone in your life. Or you tried out a friend's for five minutes. Or you're biased.
I owned an iPhone when I was on AT&T, for a good 3 months. I enjoyed it, but I far enjoy the experience I get on Android.
Give me some examples of how I've been factually incorrect.
You're arguing that an iPhone keyboard is easier to use than a standard, physical QWERTY, which you and I both know is complete bullshit. What if your computer keyboard was entirely touch-controlled? It'd be a hell of a lot harder to use, and it would take years of practice in order to learn how to type normally without looking at the keyboard.
Not to mention your entire defense on how the iPhone is better than the DROID is because of "jailbreak capabilities." The DROID is able to do all of these things out of the box; no jailbreaking/hacking required.
No, I'm not tired of how you're right, everyone has opinions, yours are obviously pushed towards Apple camp.
Again, for the hundredth time, I hate Apple and think they can go fuck themselves. I like the iPhone because it's actually a good product that generates much hate because people who are jealous they can't get one write false shit, and others believe them.

It means you're wrong.

I'll accept that. The iPhone without the Appstore would die in hell instantly, but the Appstore exists and it grows at a rate of 10,000 apps a day. I wouldn't trade the 90,000 apps for the 10,000 iPhone ports that Android offers. Trust me, if Android had more applications/larger community, I wouldn't hesitate switching to an Android phone.

It might be physical, but on most devices that show off a physical keyboard, it's usually a very slim keyboard where the keys aren't lined up as they usually are on a regular laptop or whatever, so it negates the point of it being physical in the first place. The iPhone keyboard can be a pain in the ass if it's in portrait mode, but the landscape keyboard is pretty large.
Some phones DO get the physical keyboard right. The enV2's keyboard looks like it has actual bulky buttons. My sister's Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, however, has the slimmest keyboard ever, it's a fucking nightmare to use.

Just from a few minutes of reading your posts I can tell you're a giant fanboy and nobody should take anything you say seriously.

1. I just dislike Apple policy, the iPhone IS a good phone, but in my opinion, the DROID wins in terms of usability, you have a different opinion, that's fine with me.
2. Uhh, okay?
3. I agree with the first part, without the App Store, the iPhone would be dead. But, most Android apps are not ports, it's incredibly hard to port iPhone apps because of the 2 different languages they are built on.

It doesn't have the Appstore and the massive community behind it. That's the only reason I prefer the iPhone to be honest.

I'll say what I heard a year ago on the topic of iPhones and iPod Touches; Apple is extremely good at making something extremely simple seem good in practice. The iPhone and iPod Touch are both enjoyable devices, and I love mine; I just completely fail to see what it offers out of the realms of a large fanbase and App Store.

Because not providing any backup helps your point in any way?

Have you used an Android phone? Most of the apps aren't shitty 10 minute photoshop/code jobs like 80% of the App Store is. There are only so many good apps out of all the apps in the AppStore.

I hate Apple's nazi lockdowns on the iPhone. If it wasn't for jailbreak, the iPhone would be truly fucked.

Ah, I sort of meant 'ports' as in they serve the same functionality more or less.

Amen.
If I buy a device, I should have 100% legal freedom to do whatever the fuck I want to the device's software, hardware, or whatever. I own the device for fuck's sake, what do you mean I can't jailbreak it?

I do too. The interface is quite intuitive and fluid. It's really a blast to use. But in the way of features, if it wasn't for the Appstore and the large fanbase, the iPhone would die a horrible death.
Have you used an Android phone? Most of the apps aren't shitty 10 minute photoshop/code jobs like 80% of the App Store is. There are only so many good apps out of all the apps in the AppStore.
80%? Now you're talking out of your ass. I was enjoying this proper debate, but you're being unfair. The Appstore has many more gems than people give it credit for. There was quite the influx of bullshit fart apps for like the first year, but nowadays, most apps released are actually very much in demand and are practical. Apple is also being less nazi and allowing more apps in that fuck with the operating system, so more and more practical apps come out. Earlier, it was impossible for apps to access your music, your camera, etc.

Agreed. I can understand if they dislike applications like Installous (lets you get Appstore apps for free,) but disliking users putting on themes and widgets? Who the fuck are they to tell us we can't do that? Thankfully, the guys behind the jailbreaking are clever as hell and are keeping up with Apple's shit.
Stop arguing, it was fun and games earlier but now it's fucking retarded.

Any time a thread arises with any possibility of it turning into a big debate like PS3 v 360, Mac v PC, it always does, so turn it down a notch bud.

Meh, it's just hilarious to me how seriously people can take this shit...
Meh, we reached an agreement, something that doesn't happen very often. The arguing can stop now, I suppose.
HOORAH!
Also, Alex did your upgrade apply to the pre-order?
I think I may preorder it.

No. The iPhone is capable of doing all of those things, and that's my argument. If the user doesn't jailbreak, then they more or less don't want the extra options.
Try again.
HOORAH!

My upgrade did apply for the preorder, I had my TP2 refunded and just went over to Best Buy, if it breaks, you bring it to them for the first 90 days and then after that, Verizon deals with the rest.
Awesome.
I will be heading over sometime after Mid-Terms Next week.
I don't feel that having an open development community (to any individual with serious intentions it's not difficult to get into iPhone development) would counteract the massive 50,000 apps and growing Apple Store or the iPhone's dominance of the smart-phone marketplace. Competition is the catalyst for progress which is great news for everyone at least.

Or they don't want to break the terms of service. You don't really think it would be HARD for apple to do a basic check to see if it is jailbroken when you plug it into itunes, or even just over the network? And then of course when they know it's jailbroken they can do whatever the hell they want.

If you knew half of you're talking about, you'd know that Apple is already doing such checks at firmware updates and are making it harder with new device releases.
Stop making yourself look like a tool any time now.

Cool, so you admit that apple is trying to stop it, is cracking down, making it harder to do, and is actively killing off warranties when jailbroken phones are detected! Thanks for making yourself look like a real tool by proving why people don't want to jailbreak the phones. Way to go.
