The real problem is down to androids devs, in 3.0 and above Google added a strict mode which prevents lengthy functions from being executed on the main (UI) thread, you can disable this in the devices dev options or programatically in your application (if you do this you are an awful developer) The amount of UI hangs and stutters which is down to bad threading is just ridiculous.
I've noticed that, I keep seeing it on my dads tablet every time I use it. I really can't say I'm a fan of Android. Promising to begin with, has some really nice features, works fine for a consumer but as a hacker of devices, I can't stand it.
yeah butt, fix it!
It's not mine you nig
It's not mine you nig
Fix it anyway.
WP7 can't handle 1080p video, and probably not all the extra hardware they crammed in there. See that lump? Camera module.
That's actually p sexy.
The NDK isn't real Native code, it runs on JVM. It's slower than writing in Java for it in terms of performance, and Java is fine. It's the most used language in the world and people are wrong when they say it's slow, Java 1.1 was sluggish, it's no C in terms of performance but it holds its own.
It doesn't run on JVM exactly, but it does have its share of performance problems. The big one is that the overhead of NDK calls in terms of latency and context-switching is enormous, so while you can get a boost by writing bulk data-processing code in the NDK, most typical functions may be faster just to write directly in Java.
Whenever I plug it in, my netbook overheats :( Was fine until I updated to xubuntu 12.04 LTS, odd... [editline]17th May 2012[/editline] Doesn't do it with windows though...
41 Megapixels?! I can't wait to see how shitty the photos will turn out to be, the CCD sensor is very very small compared to the resolution.
Here are some sample shots here: http://www.dpreview.com/news/2012/02/27/Nokia-808-PureView-with-41MP-sensor Although I really call bullshit on them since there's no way a tiny sensor with a crop factor of 3.0x can have absolutely no grain and a extremely shallow depth of field.
I've encountered a problem with games on my PC...I can never hear speech in a cutscene or in dialogue. For example playing fallout 3 i can hear NPCs speaking when i am just walking near them but if i enter a dialogue with them I can't hear what they're saying. Exactly the same with Oblivion & Skyrim. Same with Assassins Creed Revelations, can't hear any voices in cutscenes. all other sounds are there. What do?

Can't say anything other than that to help really.
Make sure you're not set to 5.1 sound or 7.1 sound.
Make sure you're not set to 5.1 sound or 7.1 sound.
Thanks a lot, fixed it!
I expect an ugly brick that'll last through the apocalypse
Since the launch of the N8, I'd say they've achieved both.
Thanks a lot, fixed it!
This is because the center channel of odd numbered sound systems is dedicated to speech. Same case with movies.
All I've been doing for the past few days is play Diablo after getting out of school for the day. Physically, I feel fine, but this shit hurts you psychologically.
I can't find the case I wanted before, so I think I'll just go for a 24 drive case. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811219031 Since I want plenty of space, and I won't necissarily be using all like 2TB drives, but simply what I can find.
Just a heads-up, a 3 user 1 year license of ESET Smart Security is only 13 pounds on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/ESET-Smart-Security-User-Year/dp/B005NPFOBM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1337257088&sr=8-3 (originally 50 pounds)
And why would we get that?
I expect an ugly brick that'll last through the apocalypse
Speaking of Nokias being tanks, I used to own a Nokia back when they didn't suck, I had dropped it in water and didn't notice until I received a call and it started ringing while completely submerged. Next phone (a motorola slvr l7, which I got, on release day o ye) died when I spilled half a cup of water I it

A friend of mine just got an N9 and if it had more apps a MeeGo/Harmattan phone would be vastly superior to Android phones.
When did they start sucking?
Around 2004 until a few years ago everything they released was garbage
Okay, there's no fucking way I'm reading 200+ posts. Anything worth talking about happen today, or was it all Stupid Fucking Drama (hereinafter referred to as SFD)?
I'm still waiting for Boot2Gecko to actually materialize, and then dominate the market. At least, I really want it to dominate the market.
