A good USB WiFI adapter? It's not like you can find reviews on these things, and sometimes you get stuff made by devil worshippers.
Nevermind, I just ordered one I know is "safe".
still looking at unraid, flexraid and those cases. I completely missed Linus's unboxing of the Norco 24 bay one I was looking at.
[editline]21st May 2012[/editline]
Also this guy did a great job showing the 20 bay.

what about SNIFF ?
I don't want raid, I just want a HBA with atleast 6x 8087 ports. Yet, I can't find one reasonably priced. I could get a basic one port HBA then an expander, but those are a bit pricey. There is an intel one here for 278: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816117207
And it doesn't need to be plugged into a mobo for power. I think if I could find a cheap reliable 2x 8087 or a 1x 8087 and a 1x 8088 I could be good to go and then expand to more chassis if I need to.

Joseph I need you.
Fucking great, my mother was looking for a new computer to play various semi-modern games on, for months I tried to convince her to let me build a computer for her.
When I finally thought she was going to let me build it, she randomly bought a Packard Bell computer for 823 EUR/1051 USD.
This bastard has an integrated Intel graphics card and a weak processor that can't handle anything at a decent framerate. :suicide:
Packard
Bell.
Let us have a moment of silence for AntonFTW

Close, 6GB RAM, a low-end i3, a slow 1 TB HDD, a screen worse than the one she already had and lots of bundled software which she has little to no use of.
Does no one read my server posts?

I do, but I don't have anything useful to contribute, sorry!

Basically this.
I'm not sure we have enough hardcore server admins on FP to actually know what you're talking about, Brt
Guess I'm gonna sell these 6870s for $180ish ($90 each) since people on ebay are asking for $150 for a single and are having little to no bids. Plus It' not a loss for me since I actually did get refunded for them AND I got my new credit card today and my bank gave me $100 credit on it. If I can sell these cards I'd only have to shell out about $120 of my own cash for one.
GTX 670 here I come.

It can still be returned, explain to her that she made a shitty choice on the model and fix that shit.

The i3 2100 isn't that bad for gaming, though for $1000 that's awful.
RIP headphones.
and now i'm stuck on ipod headphones :suicide:

Go pick up the JVC HA-RX500 if you like over-ear headphones. They aren't the greatest but you know they aren't bad for $60 (especially since I got them on sale for $30 once)

My HA-RX700 only cost me about £35 from Amazon. I got it as it was the recommended one in the headphone megathread (For the price bracket anyway)

Thank you
