£360??? I've sold a better rig for £30!
I've found better rigs sticking out of a skip
While we are still talking about it, are HA-RX300 any good? They are just 20$ on amazon.ca now
Spend a little extra and get the HA-RX700.
Fixed it for you.
I want to get one of those Hell I am ready to sell something to buy one of those
Oh my god it used Half Life in it. I must have one now.
I want that and the monitor.
Battlefield 3? Metro 2033?
I tried out battlefield 3 and it was just prettier battlefield 2. metro 2033 maxes out all but aa at 1600x1200, haven't tried 1920x1440
Fixed it for you.
It's just a concept, right? There's no way there's this ultrakinect/minority report thing and it's not in stores and I'm not selling my bed to get one.
The leap thing is really fucking cool. But I can't see myself gaming with it other than things like angry birds and fruit ninja like in the video. But that's obviously not made for gaming.
those were actually rather sensible controls for HL2 movement looked like it was still the keyboard but ehh
Hey dudes. What do you guys think about this? I think it looks pretty cool. EDIT: I can't embed this for some reason. I blame Garry.
This will get very exhausting very fast.
those were actually rather sensible controls for HL2 movement looked like it was still the keyboard but ehh
looks prerendered or staged or something imo
It looks pretty awesome if you just want to lean back in your chair and lazily browse the web
So guys I want to upgrade my computer I have around $200 but most hardware in my country is twice the price it is in the US I kinda want to blow most of it on a 550ti and use whatever's left from that to buy myself Arma 2 CO questions -Will this benefit me or do I have another bottleneck besides the GPU -Anyone know of a store that ships internationally from the US or some decent package forwarding service so I can get a 550 TI for less than $180 shipped to Argentina? Willing to buy used if whoever's selling it can prove it works and isn't a scamming asshole -Any suggestions for a better GPU around the same price (looking around (passmark) seems like the HD 6850 is the best bang for buck)

I don't know how old you are but $400 comes quick if you're actually bringing in money instead of just getting it for your birthday and whatnot
Almost no time for a job, I'm trying to get some money here and there but with the recent exchange rate shift it's even harder to get it
All my other parts will come in today even though my case came in one day earlier for some reason. Still can't get over my anxiety of screwing something up on the first build; like "Oh god what if my shaky hands accidentally puts too much force when inserting the CPU?" or "Oh no what method should I use for applying the thermal paste, what if I put way too much." [editline]12:53AM[/editline] Oh no, this was a horrible way to start a new page.
When my friend got a new CPU, he let me put it in because he was scared to do it himself. I put it in a bit wrong at first, lifted it a bit in air and then tried to find the socket again. He didn't notice, I didn't break any pins and all was fine and awesome. But it was a bit funny for me that he didn't want to touch the CPU himself, scared that he might break it. The CPU was a 960T and he has a AM2+ motherboard so he can't unlock it. He might get a new one but right now he is waiting for his 6770. He has been waiting for like a month now..
Fixed it for you.
FINALLY, WE CAN PUNCH PEOPLE OVER THE INTERNET
Great, my glasses are breaking right when I was going to buy sunglasses. I was also saving for a new computer. How wonderful.
Almost no time for a job, I'm trying to get some money here and there but with the recent exchange rate shift it's even harder to get it
Well, then there' a lot more reason for waiting and saving up. If you can't get rid of bottlenecks and such in an upgrade, you simply shouldn't upgrade (in the very largest share of cases at least).
A friend of mine wanted a build for gaming. His first build in fact. He's been used to overheating shitty HP Pavilion laptops, and now he wanted something proper. (He knows I've been building for other people) So anyhow, he's a smart fella. He has little idea about computer hardware, but damn he learns fast. I selected the hardware for him, but i let him set the budget and select the case and such. Surprisingly, he didn't go with a ricer case full of blue lights. Nah, he went with a pretty stylish Fractal case. Here's the build, keep in mind that it's geared towards heavy gaming. So there's a lot more focus on graphics than there is on CPU power (i3 2100 is fine for gaming though, afaik): CPU: i3 2100 GPU: Evga GTX 670 RAM: 2 x 4GB Corsair Value S. 1333Mhz CL9 HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3, Z68, 2 x PCIe(3.0)x16 PSU: Silver Power 750W (Kind of unsure about this choice, but it was 51% off so it's worth a try) Case: Fractal Design Arc (mid) Monitor: Samsung 23" LED syncmaster - 1920x1080 @ 120Hz We also bought a wireless networks card, and a really cheap placeholder keyboard because he couldn't make his mind up on that. He may upgrade the CPU in the future as well.

I'd recommend getting an i5 2500. You probably won't be bottlenecked much by the i3, but you'll get speed increases in many different applications, and you might encounter a game that actually likes the CPU more than the GPU.

He does some video editing now and then, but this CPU will give him a dramatic increase in speed from his [del]frying pan[/del] laptop anyways. The i3 may have troubles with games like GTA4 or Metro 2033, but otherwise it should be fine. For now at least.

And there doesn't appear to be any Thubans where we're purchasing it from [editline]22nd May 2012[/editline] mergebreak
Pretty hard to get them nowadays with AMD discontinuing them. I'm just slightly worried about it if he is gonna play BF3 multiplayer, I got tons of lag on a PII X3 but almost none when I unlocked the fourth core.
