Classmate who constantly does hilarious jokes like turning off people's netbooks and taking my earphones off finally drives me over the edge
walk up to his desk
pick up his netbook
take the battery off
I feel like a dick but no regrets
Are you in college/university?
if so, report him to student affairs or something.
if highschool/gradeschool, lol.

He deserved it.
I'm moving my desktop over to Linux in a few weeks, which Debian based distro that isn't Ubuntu is the most suitable?
I'm after something pretty lightweight that will just work out of the box.
Does anyone know how good the dual monitor support is with Gnome shell too?

Debian Sid is probably your best bet

Thanks, isn't Sid the unstable dev release though?
I'm having too much fun with my raspberry pi, and I hate the way windows 8 is going, I think now is the time to switch over for good.
The voucher only applies to one :v:
Well, Brt, Lyoko, Buttsex and daijitsu could ship one to a few people.
Still debating if I should just buy one. It's $50 and could just be gifted if I don't use it

My birthday is in september <3
I won't mind my present coming four months early, promise.
Well that's good and all but remember i just spent $400 on an iPhone so I don't really need extra expenditures :v:
Just spend €600 on an S3 so me neither :saddowns:
Thought a €40 kindle, damn tempting..
I just found a disk with NINETY SIX percent fragmentation.

It's a 37.5% discount off the retail brand new one, which is pretty damn good.

I know, I don't really need a kindle though :v:
So I heard news about my laptop today.
You'll note I did not say "good news".
Apparently my laptop was so sexy-awesome, it can't actually exist. I'd customized it by adding an SSD to the secondary drive bay. Unfortunately, it seems the 15" G55 doesn't actually *have* a secondary drive bay, only the 17" G75s do.
IT TOOK THEM THREE FUCKING WEEKS TO FIGURE THAT OUT
So my options were either a) put the SSD in the optical drive bay (and get a cheap external DVD drive), 2) drop the hard drive and install a single, larger SSD instead, or iii) Cancel the order and get a G75 instead.
I picked 3, because fuck it, if I'm getting a near-top-of-the-line laptop, I may as well do it right.
Oh, and I'm ordering the SSD myself, because their prices are crazy. $150 for a 64GB drive? No thanks - I'll just get a 120GB one for the same price off Newegg and INSTALL IT MYSELF.
One upside: A Blu-ray drive (BD-R/DVD-RW) is stock on the G75, while the G55 considers that an upgrade. So there's that.
Hopefully it doesn't take THREE FUCKING WEEKS for them to ship it to me.

not bad considering I haven't defragged it in a year
C is an SSD, so no defrags there

wtf? My G53SW has two bays, and it's a 15 inch model.
I understand that I am a little bit (a page) late but posting RC content is not forbidden, I asked mods before creating this thread and postal even posted content there
wtf? My G53SW has two bays, and it's a 15 inch model. Why would they "downgrade" the 15 inch models?
Fuck if I know.
Anyways, what are the best companies for buying SSDs? I know Intel has a strong reputation, but are there any others that are reliable and fast?

Mods if you have changed your opinion about leaking RC, please just delete this post, or edit it.
Last time I checked (and asked) you told me it was OK
to answer the game question i missed (but i desperately want to spread the word about this mod), i've been playing Median XL on Diablo II. if you like diablo 2 but wish it was harder (and altogether better) try this NOW.

Intel, Samsung, and Crucial are the big 3 as of now I believe, Corsair Force series is good too

Need more Linux distros...
A few of these are probably quite out of date.

highschool, lol happened.
"what if he punches you or something"
"I'll wait until he leaves the thing unattended, take it apart and leave the parts organized on his desk"
These toy netbooks are easy as shit to take apart, I can take out the keyboard, a metal cover and the RAM before I need a screwdriver

Basically, if it uses a SandForce controller, stay away.
The Crucial M4 is a good one, seems to be on offer a lit now too.
I have a Samsung 830, a really good SSD as both the memory and controller are Samsung designed/made. A little more expensive than the M4, but is certainly the king of SSD reliability.

CentOS, TinyCore, Slackware, Fedora, openSUSE, Mandriva, PCLinuxOS, Mageia.
Need more?
What's wrong with those controllers?
