Oh yeah, forgot to mention.
I won a blu-ray player at my prom last night :v:
Gotta get myself a 5.1 system and a receiver now and I'll have a sick setup in my room come this June.
Nice, I have a 5.1 setup myself.
It's great for movies and console games.
I have a 5.1 system
I end up just using 2.1 anyway

Also, since I love posting deals in CIPWTTKT, I should mention that Starcraft 2 is $30 at Best Buy until Memorial Day.
I have a 750w Silverstone Strider, it's got modular cables. Can I unplug the unused ones? What happens if I leave a power cable coming from the PSU hanging that isn't being used?

yes and nothing
I have a little problem here, my 295 GTX crashes to black screen more and and more often. By crashing to blackscreen I mean the monitor is not getting a signal and the speakers play a 1s long audio loop (whatever was playing during the crash). Today, I noticed my computer was blowing hot air while I wasn't gaming, just casually browsing. I checked GPU-Z, it reported 103 °C at GPU core and 94 °C at the main CPU sensor.
I have already returned 2 of these 295 GTXs to the manufacturer, last time I got the new revision with the single-PCB design. I had the exact same problem with the last cards too.
What do you guys think, can I convince the support guy to give me a newer card with equal performance, like the 680 GTX or 580 GTX?
If its from a manufacture like EVGA I know they'll give you an upgrade to 600 series or 500 series card. Otherwise its a hit and a miss.
I got one of the last Xbox 360 branded Pioneer 5.1 systems for $100 and while it looks like white plastic POS the sound quality is fantastic.
Alright, sorry for yet another dumb question, but this is my first build.
Hooking the PSU up to everything, and most things seem to be fine. Only problem is the motherboard.
There's the very large main cable which is split into two, one of which is 4 pin. This fits the plug, but doesn't seem to go in very far. It's very awkward to get the two plugs in at the same time.
Also, there's another power plug (8 pin) on the motherboard, I have no idea what it's for and I can't find a matching plug on the PSU.

Pics would be nice. What does the main cable look like? Is it the 24-pin connector? The 4 pins on the end usually are separated since there are a lot of low-power boards.
Also, there really, really should be an 8-pin cable with the PSU, that's the CPU's power rail.
The big block is 24 pin on modern motherboards (PSU's sometimes have a 20+4 connector). These should all go in. The 4/8/double 8 pin at the top of your motherboard is CPU power like Protocol7 said.
so i have an extra wii that can't read anything in the cd drive
what do i do with it
Make a coaster, or a toaster.
Well, the pins didn't look like they lined up properly, but I plugged it in and everything's fine.
IT LIVES
Is Jahsaka (open source video SFX editor, similar to After effects) good?
So this new hardware site I found has decent(er) prices, as in a 1tb/4gb/550ti/5370k build is around $1200
Pretty excited about that.

Put homebrew channel etc on.
[editline]27th May 2012[/editline]
And usbloader, then just load your games from an external harddrive
Or mod it to hell
How much are the current gen consoles going for in the US? I'd love to get a hold of a wii, even if it's used or something. I loved Wii Sports.

I am so incredibly glad that I did not pay for this
seriously how did this get out of testing
So I'm planning on buying an Audio Technica AT2020 (along with various accessories) but the only problem is that the one I'm going to buy is XLR, and I have no clue what I need to make that work (XLR to 3.5mm? Mixer?). Can someone tell me what I need?

the issue apparently comes from using a 64 bit operating system
fuck everything
I bet you'll never guess what I'm doing.
Also, fuck you Cloudflare, if I'm trying to post on Facepunch, your DDoS shit should NOT force me to go back to the forum index and type my post all over again.

What a horrible kickstarter project. You don't need 10 grand for that, what the hell happened to the days of basement dwellers making their shit with no funding, something like that does not need funding, at least that goddamn much.

i agree that the kickstarter is a bit unnecessary, but i REALLY want a game like this to get off the ground so i actually have an excuse to program :v:

If this is your only motivation, you're a horrible person and shouldn't really be programming. If you actually want to get into it, you'll have the motivation to actually do it by other means.

I've been without FP for like 3 days.
i love how all the bonuses on that kickstarter page, will give you advantages to the rest of the competition
Had a chat about IObit with Latin Geek that eventually evolved into 3.5 stories he thinks should go here. Unedited because it's 4:15 AM

Today is my birthday (woohoo) and I get to pick out a new phone, problem is I haven't been keeping up with phones lately. Any recommendations? I have T-mobile, and the phone should preferably have a good camera and a good music player/sound quality
HTC One X or Galaxy SIII.
