oh shut up, you. you're less than 2 weeks away from getting a new computer.
So my government or education board or whatever is doing this gamemaking contest where you use a tool from them to make a videogame or animation
Thing's called "alice", and from screenshots it looks like fucking Windows 3D movie maker
"oh it can't be that bad" so I download it because, hey, prizes
It's basically W3DMM but without the user friendly interface
I'd rather jump off a bridge than use this, it's so unoptimized (which is fucking saying for a game with three entities) and the camera/object modification controls are fucking retarded

our school's technology class uses alice
frankly my enthusiasm for maybe getting the class next semester dissolved when i saw what it looked like
it's fucking UGLY and i sneaked a peek at some of the code
it's basically basic programming on rails
I was speaking to wingless earlier about how cool it would be to have the Encom OS UI from Tron legacy, well I've added it to my raspberry pi's web server. I'm unsure whether just to connect it up to a user accounts terminal, or try and fake the whole thing.
I want to be able to do little bits and pieces of work on this eventually.

Also Haw, Smace got a 1 month ban in the Seth code thread
Trying to get $2250 is a pain in the ass. Dad said he was going to sell one of the Malibu's he has, and the nicer one is worth like 5 grand still if he sold it. But that would be if I moved down there for college, I don't know if he's still willing to do it. Because if he sold it right now, called me saying he had 5 grand for me for my first car I'd so have the truck of my dreams right now...
Hell I'd have enough I could put an ivy bridge build inside of the dash. Anyone care to lend me $2250? :v:
Why do you need that money? For a car?

I never understood why teens buy/get pickups instead of sedans in the USA.
I mean, the consumption is way way higher and I doubt that you guys transport that much stuff.

Mudding, and I'm from arguably the most redneck town in New York. I'd probably end up hauling quite a bit too. We get a lot of snow here, we got 10 foot in just 4 days two winters ago, so if I had something taller with 4 wheel drive I'd be better off. No one in my family has ever had a sedan. We've either had mini-vans or trucks/SUV's.

And besides, who knows when I'll have to eventually drive out there or up north to the Adirondack's.

I've just been looking at cheap ass Hondas for my first
I've just been looking at cheap ass Hondas for my first
I honestly doubt I'll be able to get a truck for my first car. I'll probably end up getting something like that. Like a $400 Honda that will blow up on me in a few months once I get money for a better car.
In the winter, my Corolla didn't have too many problems getting through the snow. Sure, a truck would've gone through it effortlessly but I'd rather keep my 6.53 L/100km mileage and not have to worry about parking something that gigantic.

I've (supposedly) got a much higher budget than you so I can expect at least a few years out of mine
I'm expecting it to get me through AT LEAST college, and since I'm aready 1.5 years in, that seems attainable with a few years to go after that.
pussy. hit me up in buffalo
my dad is from buffalo
I get terrified every time I realise there are sixteen-year-olds legally driving cars.
my first car was 1996 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition XLT, but now I drive a 2001 Honda Civic EX
bleh
hopefully I'll be getting get a newish Subaru Impreza with a hatchback trunk thingy in the near future
I get terrified every time I realise there are sixteen-year-olds legally driving cars.
In some places, 15 year olds can drive too.
I'm about to be 18 and I'm not that interested in driving at all, if anything i'll get a tiny car that requires low maintenance and has a decent km per liter rate
Or a scooter
To be honest parking it isn't that much of an issue anyways, I always parked far out even in shitty rusty cars cause I don't want to get hit by a granny trying to park in a handicap spot.
I'll stick to being a bus wanker thanks.
You wank on buses? EWWWW

Considering the first car choices [del]above[/del] on the previous page, insurance in the US must be pretty damn cheap compared to here in the UK then?
The cost of my first years insurance was about £2200 (About $3400) for a 1 litre car with a 3 cylinder engine.
UK insurance prices are a bloody joke.
Saying that, I got my first year down to £1800 for a Year and two weeks for an Inline 4 2.0L Diesel car with a turbo - Also, 57MPG :v:
I am 20 though, I did all my driving shit later than most.
All in the haggling, Even got 3 months European cover thrown in.
I'm getting a 2004 nissan micra as my first car.
free car, can't complain
that is until i hit a pothole or speedbump.
[editline]28th May 2012[/editline]
I don't even want to imagine what my insurance would be.

I'd probably get some cheap used car from the dealer if I ever get around to getting the car. Or they'd just give me the station wagon.
