I waited until age 19 for a full license but doing the driving test for it was easy (9 points off out of 30) as South Carolina has low standards. I had really hardly driven prior to it. Forklift driving is about the same story but more dangerous.
Well, my Pentium 4 apparently has 3.2 GHZ, so I guess that's a little up to date on clock speeds.
[QUOTE='[EG] Pepper;36104382']I'm getting a 2004 nissan micra as my first car.

that is until i hit a pothole or speedbump.
[editline]28th May 2012[/editline]

I'm 17 and I have a $15k car that my parents pay for... I suddenly feel really spoiled and bad
I'm 21 and have a $5k car that I pay for
sometimes in blood, I'm doing $500 a month
[editline]27th May 2012[/editline]
plus insurance plus gas
[editline]27th May 2012[/editline]
plus my tail light went out a few weeks ago
[editline]27th May 2012[/editline]
plus I need an oil change
Ouch, is that including insurance and the works or JUST car payments?
[QUOTE=HolyCrapAWalrus;36105206]Ouch, is that including insurance and the works or JUST car payments?[/QUOTE]
just payments
Plus how the fuck did we get to insurance
I wanted to get it paid off as soon as possible
Why so much a month?
[editline]27th May 2012[/editline]
Oh god the thread is moving too fast
[QUOTE=HolyCrapAWalrus;36105215]Why so much a month?
[editline]27th May 2012[/editline]
Oh god the thread is moving too fast[/QUOTE]
it's the most I could reasonably afford, I don't like the idea of paying for a car for 10 years when it might not even be running by then
I'm waiting for my step-dad to be asleep so that I can convince my mom to call my biological dad and hound him about getting me [url=http://syracuse.craigslist.org/cto/3033093531.html]that truck from earlier[/url]. I can do all of that work myself except the axle joint, but my step dad and I can do that.
-snip oh god what is wrong with me-
[QUOTE=DustySheep;36105267]What happens when your best friend gives you a number of some annoying person, and they tell you to act like somebody they like?
The best thing ever, that is.[/QUOTE]
More like you suddenly becoming a gigantic douchebag. You should feel bad.
-snip i am dumb-
So you ruin one persons night/possibly life in order to get your friend out of a state of mind that is created by a lack of a certain chemical within your brain; something that an act so trivial as this is not going to fucking correct you imbecile.
so
computers
Yeah
Blah blah, GPU, budget with friend, blah blah
[editline]27th May 2012[/editline]
Okay I'll stop posting until this whole thing goes over
cool
I took apart my iphone to fix the screen problem I was having.
Good news:
I forgot to take off this rear panel protector thing, and now it's fixed.
Bad news:
A screw head sheared off, and now my rear camera lens has spots!
Screw head I can deal with, but I cleaned the lens again and again only to have nothing fix it.
[editline]27th May 2012[/editline]
Also I almost froze my balls with an upside-down can of compressed air in what should have been a joke
I sortof fixed it, but turns out he doesn't care, but I still feel really bad now
[video=youtube;59SnP1vAiXY]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59SnP1vAiXY&feature=plcp[/video]
my brain
I love all of this guy's music
buying everything now and forever
Is 3.2 GHz decent? Because my friend is having problems, and I'm troubleshooting why her computer could be so fucking slow.
Right now, a partner at my dad's firm gave my brother and I a 2003 Corolla for free, which was well maintained and has about 120k KM on it. Right now, my parents pay for the insurance and most of the gas since we're both unemployed.
As you might be able to guess, sharing a car is annoying to the point where I'm totally willing to get any job to buy a somewhat cheap car to call my own, though holy fuck insurance is expensive. I got a quote online and at minimum wage, I'd be working 30 hours a month just for the insurance. The bus is looking like the only option here...

Depends on the CPU. If it's a P4, it's pretty slow.
Had a science exam.
Completed it with around half of the time we had.
You feel the tension in the air, and you are like, your work is done and you don't have to give a fuck but it is so weird to be there, when everybody is so nerveous around you.

[sub][sub][sub]that wasn't a typo, I mean it[/sub][/sub][/sub]
This time from my fucking retarded HTML/OHS teacher.
Apparently, VMS was made by IBM, VAX was developed by Compaq (Not DEC, who were bought out by Compaq...), OpenVMS is a CLONE OF VAX/VMS by HP.
Oh and you know when you go to a site and you're automatically redirected to Index.html or index.php, etc, That's not the server software. It's TCP/IP.
Apparently I've never used a real OpenVMS system (Despite having access to 2 different systems, one with 8.4 and one with 7.1), I don't have access to a RHEL system (Despite having a VM for it on my ESXi machine and it's what my Itanium system runs as the main OS...). Why? Because of my age. No other reason. Just my age.
So after class, I asked her "Are you confusing MVS with VMS?"
She said nope, VMS. IBM VMS, for System/36. Last time I checked, IBM has never fucking used VMS, ever. System/36 which didn't run MVS or VMS (OS/360, which is NOT part of the MVT Family).
I told her, IBM has never used VMS, the System/36's ran OS/360, similar to MVS, it was succeeded by a future iteration of MVS (OS/390). DEC Made VAX/VMS, who were bought out by Compaq who were bought out by HP. HP renamed it OpenVMS. Before it was bought out by Compaq, DEC ported it to their Alpha system, then right before Compaq were bought out they announced a port for Itanium, which is when HP bought them out and changed the name to OpenVMS. MVS and VMS have never been related and never will be.
Gods that class is making my homicidal.
[QUOTE=~Kiwi~v2;36106236]Can I tactical nuke your class?[/QUOTE]

System/36 runs SSP - which is still not VMS.
[QUOTE=Keyrah;36106245]System/36 runs SSP - which is still not VMS.[/QUOTE]
Close enough.
Also, have some old content from her.
DB/2 is a mainframe OS.
Go figure...
She constantly talks about her experience in the old days of IBM PC's when they first came to Australia. She doesn't even know what fucking IPL means.
How the hell can she claim to be an experienced veteran from the era, constantly talk about the good old days working with her System/36 and writing in COBOL but yet talk likes she knows absolutely nothing? Her knowledge is comparable to a fucking skiddie who skims wikipedia.

Reminds me of one of our competitors that I secretly consult for making about couple hundred per week. Oh yeah, he's a rich 14 yearold rich canadian boy with pappy and mommy in the enterprise sector :S
