Pepper;36146317']Speaking of laptop batteries, the one for my HP isn't bad, it lasts ~3 hours idle. It's the £5 chargers you want to avoid. anyone remember this? [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5831868/IMG_0572.JPG[/t]
I bought a $9 charger for said Acer Aspire One. I got smoke from the laptop, though I'm pretty sure that's because I fucked up putting it back together after 2 years of it sitting in pieces. I opened it up and found a wire in the display cable was without insulation, so I'm assuming the DC jack was resting on the display cable and shorted out. A few hours after it smoked, I plugged it into my mom's acer laptop charger and it booted up, so it's not dead... Though after a few minutes I began to smell a less-than pleasant smell, so I powered it off and ordered a replacement display cable (about $12).
Calibration? Are we still in the 90s?
Or in the Mass Effect universe.
Or in the Mass Effect universe.
Garrus would agree

[editline]31st May 2012[/editline] oh wait, I have no "NVIDIA Control Panel" in my..uh..Control Panel. i must be using MS drivers [editline]31st May 2012[/editline] actually it kind of explains why games aren't running as well as they normally do
Well, running superpi, systester, stress, mprime, playing a 720p video, max brightness, playing music in background and writing from /dev/urandom to /dev/null gotta get that battery consumption to the max. Also, I turned on the ThinkLight. That should really do a difference here!
Thanks Amazon for increasing the price of one of the items I was just about to buy. Cunts.
Thanks Amazon for increasing the price of one of the items I was just about to buy. Cunts.
It's all automated based on supplies. They always warn you.

Hehe, found a thinkpad 390E on ebay, want! 333Mhz PII, that should do me just fine!

I dont know if this would be the correct thread to post in, but oh well. Over the summer I'm planning to build an arcade machine that plays all the metal slugs using a neogeo emulator. I can build basic computers and such, what type of hardware and OS should I use?
Me right now:
Interesting coincidence, same here.
Would I use the onboard graphics or a low-end graphics card?
Integrated graphics will handle something like that very easily, the newer atoms have half decent integrated GPU's anyway.
I've been trying to install 2008 R2 on this IBM x346 for weeks now. I can't seem to get the RAID to turn off and run in jBOD mode. The server seems to HAVE to run in either Raid0, 1, 5 or the drives won't show to windows. I don't think it's a driver issue since making a single drive RAID0 will show up. Anyone have any fucking ideas? I'm doing this to test flexraid. I want to set up these 6 drives as hotswaps to test it. A single 74gb OS drive, a 150gb parity drive and 3x74 = 1x150gb data drives to test recovery. But I'd have to make six fucking arrays for this. While it would work, it's not how it should work.
Guys you won't believe what happened to me recently So I have a printer connected to my home wifi spot, but my main desktop doesn't have any drivers for it installed (I never use the printer anyways, and those drivers are a real pain in the butt to install) I accidently starting printing a document from my main desktop, and windows actually found the drivers automatically. It is my third windows installation and this is the first time I actually see the driver finding program working
This thread made me remind of the day my friend said he had a 6GHz CPU (it was a 3GHz dual core) because he thought you could multiply 3GHz by the number of cores. Good old times.
I told you guys about my old friend from New York who would buy extravagant computers. He was like 45-50 or something and ran a BF2 clan I was apart of. At the time the QX6850 or so was out and he has his at 3ghz, He kept telling everyone he had 12ghz. I tried for a long time to explain that it doesn't work that way, but he would curse me out and threaten to fly down and kick my ass. Which honestly, he probably would. But I let him on his merry way. He also bought my a copy of BF2142 and sent it to me in the mail. I have him added on FB and keep asking when they play, but I never get a response. :(

I've wasted so much time on this fucking server just trying to have separate disks. What the fuck IBM. Piece of shit
Great. Now that I have brought a track from Amazon MP3, I now discover it does not match the preview clip. When the main thing about a song you like is the heaviness of the guitars in the chorus, the last thing you want is a fucking acoustic version...
Speaking of servers, i donated a Compaq proliant ML370 g1 to my college Now the IT techs treat me like a god or something.
"Have you jailbroken your iPhone?" "Yeah, I can jailbreak anything! I jailbreak iPhones, iPods, computers, DVRs (voice trails off)." I didn't know what to say after that.
