Quick install a custom rom on it
I was about to buy a 15" 1080p workstation laptop, but now I'm wondering if I should wait until other manufacturers catch up, or just enjoy 1080p.
Think about it this way:
Do you want to enjoy 1080 now, or be suck to wait possibly one month before the other manufacturers make it?

Well I do have until almost the end of the summer because my little sister will be getting my current laptop. If anything I'll wait it out and the prices will drop.
1080p is already eye strain inducing, then with a 7950m 1080p will be a joke.
I'd also have to wait a lot longer than a month and pay around $600 more than the current $1200 for the laptop.
Can you stand to have 1080? Do you think the extra money will be worth it?
Just went to go check my dad's laptop. It is definitely more than enough, and if I need a stupidly high resolution anyway I'll just buy a high res monitor with the saved money.
I have the $2k, but I shouldn't spend it on the unecessary.
Just put it as LOCAL POLICE STATION #69 or something.
Best SSID you can have behind "I got 99 problems, but a bit aint one!" and "FBI Surveillance van #1337"
The portable hotspot SSID for my Nexus S was "RCMP Surveillance Horse #42" for a while.
Our router is made by Thomson
I feel like renaming it to Thomson .45
Newegg sent me the wrong GTX 670.
ugh, time to send it back and wait for the right one

It's about time.
If you install Windows or Linux on one of the new macbooks with the retina display, does it support the resolution?

I think if you install the graphics drivers it should work. Dunno about linux.
Same deal with Linux duh.
By "Dunno about linux" i mean dunno if you can get the drivers.
I think you'd be more likely to find drivers on linux
if you're installing Windows through boot camp I'd think they'd provide the drivers

"they" meaning Apple
I think I want a modmic, anyone here have one that can give me pros/cons?
Using one right now, its a mic. Its isn't amazing, but it ain't shite either. It picks up noise if you got a loud computer nearby.

When i installed windows on my macbook apple only provided the drivers for the trackpad, the wireless card, and the IR sensor and installed some other stuff (handy "boot into Mac" button, volume popup like in OSX). I had to find the drivers for my card myself.
Haha, a friend of mine ordered some media center case and for reason got a Cooler Master Elite 430 case with it, free of charge.
Obviously a some sort of strange error on the webstores part.
He's not sending it back or even mentioning it, he was planning to later build a gaming computer anyways :v:

It's like a chromebook, only it won't become a paperweight if the internet dies

Goddamn that's pretty.
I want one. But I'd ditch Ubuntu the second I got it, much like you reinstall Windows when you get a new normal laptop, to get rid of the bloatware. Mostly because I hate everything about Ubuntu.

Could be the time Windows checks for updates. Do you hibernate or similar. I'd check the device settings for the network card and see if the the card can take the PC out of sleep / hibernation
Also slowpunch as hell
