So Brt just posted some 1080p60 BF3 via Dropbox on his SirCrest page. He didn't think it would run in a browser. I went for it.
When I'm not recording it actually fucking plays at 60 FPS.

But when I'm recording it to show that it runs the shit sucks. video on my domain
I've got GPU acceleration on now, but before I did the recording and screenshotted it at 60 fps, it was without GPU acceleration. This Mac Mini with Chrome is a tough fucking machine!
They haven't had cases afaik, only other stuff like the cable extensions, when I checked monday that's all I saw

Wait no they had the prodigy on their Newegg page but that was it
And the Shinobi, but you had to manually search it to even find it.
My friend is buying a laptop for gaming instead of building a desktop.
The only thing you could get are molex adapters, but I find them sketchy as fuck
I just looked around and it looks like they're fairly safe as long as you use the 2 molex -> 1 PCI-E

If I remember correctly one came with the cards. I would check but the boxes are in my garage.
Forgot to tell you guys. One of my best friends is getting a gaming PC from a coworker. The part that you guys would care about is the computer has a 580, and my friend is paying a total of $250 for the whole thing. I don't know the rest of the specs, but the 580 alone makes it worth it.
was it stolen?

As long as it's a decently-specced, decently-powerful, decently-priced laptop, there's nothing wrong with that.

Except his desktop just needs a new GPU and CPU and he's got a working PC that's stronger than what he's getting.
Also
AffinitiveKuma: We got a new video card.
FlakTheMighty: And?
AffinitiveKuma: But it can do more than the motherboard

was it stolen?
Doubt it, the guy said that his friend built it for him a little while back. I guess he either needs quick money or doesn't understand computer pricing.

I was just asking since a guy I know in WoW got one of those new Asus gaming laptops for $100 from a crackhead :v:

Would this work to make the molex output to PCI-E? I see that it has two outputs, so I'm sort of worried that a full load video card would draw too much power and fry them. Would it route all of the power through one of the molex adapters if only one of the PCI-E connections was used, or would it distribute it equally? Why don't any good companies make adapters like this?
My GTX 670 came with two, I can just include them with the 6870.

I always solder custom cables where both connectors goes into one molex connector. The power consumption of what most card draws cannot even make the cable warm, let a long frying it.

You're a great man
I'll sleep on the decision to buy it, I'm not entirely sure yet (but certainly hold onto one, I can pay an extra 10 for the cables if you want)

I'm mostly worried because I saw a comment on some forum about single molex cable burning because it exceeded the recommended power for the cable
I think i'm going to pass on your 6870 offer. I can get a second 6850 for 30 bucks more and get more performance than a single 6870.
[editline]15th June 2012[/editline]
Unless i can crossfire my 6850 with the 6870... But that would be a bit pointless wouldn't it?
[editline]15th June 2012[/editline]
And problematic?
Content on my part. I'm using this terrible temp Acer laptop while I wait for my MacBook Pro to get back from being loaned out on a business trip. It's got 2GB RAM, an Athlon II X2 P340, and a Mobility Radeon 4250. I'm using FireFox as my primary browser, and I generally have 30-40 tabs open. It is terrible.

Awww you poor thing, my Acer has a single core Turion, 2Gb of RAM and a ATI Radeon Xpress 1100.
[editline]15th June 2012[/editline]
Chromium runs sorta well, doubt it could take 10 tabs though.

Pretty sure you can crossfire any two cards from the same line (68XX, 48XX, etc) unless they've changed it since the 4000 series. I'll double check that.

You can.
Yep, but it functions as 2 6850s crossfired. The superior part of the 6870 gets turned off while it's crossfired with a worse card. (I just checked, you automerge breaker you)
In conclusion, getting a cheap 6870 is better than a new 6850 in this case.

it is on hold
Well, scratch that. Like i said, if i get my laptop sold in the next week i'll buy one. Although it will fuck with my "OCD", i'll deal with it.
[editline]15th June 2012[/editline]
Do you happen to have a crossfire bridge?
Are the crossfire bridges the same for every generation? I have one from my old 4870.
yeah
yeah
Not necessarily.

You've never seen that?
It's the original crossfire. Pretty sure you can guess how it works from that photo.
