I need some help in removing the IT Policy from a Blackberry 8310. I have looked up several guides on it, it either requires me to be above 4.3 in the OS version (there are no updates for it, at v4.2 currently), or it wants me to modify a registry key that doesn't exist, probably because it was written for older desktop software. I even tried wiping this thing, IT policy is still on it.
This supposedly works Download this http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp Navigate to "C:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader" Run a "loader.exe /resettofactory"
Problem is, the 4.2 software doesn't support the factory reset command.
Then there's this, which you briefly mentioned
Step 1 Ensure the Blackberry Desktop Manager is installed using Blackberry Internet Service, and not Blackberry Enterprise Server. If you are unsure, it would probably be a good idea to uninstall the Desktop Manager and start again. If you don't have the CD that came with your Blackberry, the Software can be downloaded here. BlackBerry Software Site Step 2 Download the file policy.bin Download Here. and save it in your Blackberry installation directory (C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry). Step 3 Wipe your Blackberry, creating a backup if necessary. Select Options/Security/Wipe (Newer 4.2 OS Devices Goto Options/Security Options/General Settings/Wipe) on the Device. If this option is unavailable, you may have to install the latest software on your Blackberry. You need to Download and install the latest Desktop Manger Software, then the latest Handheld Software. Connect your device, open the Desktop Manager, select Application Loader, and follow the prompts. Step 4 Close the Desktop Manager if it is open. Step 5 From the Windows Start Menu select Run..., and at the prompt type regedit. In the tree on the left hand side, navigate to: HKEY_Current_Users\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\PolicyManager Right-Click the Policy Manager Folder and select New/String Value. Name the value Path. Now, Double-Click the Path Subkey and set Value Data to: C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\policy.bin Step 6 Open the Desktop Manager. Step 7 Connect the Device.
Note how it says to create a registry key, not modify one. Can't find the link for the policy.bin though
I am currently downloading an older version of the Blackberry Desktop Software, that'll probably do the job. aaand it's done.
Someone take a look at my thread? http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1190958
I forget so I'm going to guess HD 2xxx series or 1xxx
x800 series. [editline]15th June 2012[/editline]
Why is it that really expensive review builds never managed to get above 60 fps on highest settings in bf3 with 1920x1080 resolution on the 680/7970. But one fps pro manages to have a steady 120 fps with the gtx 680 highest settings 1920x1080 and complains when his frame-rate goes down to 80 fps in bf3. He does also not overclock etc. This is the first review to be close to it: Every other must be running a 60hz screen or something.
Highest and max are different. And Pros rarely will use AA or anything like that from what I've seen.

Aye, PC Halo 2 It's a shitty console port but it looks alright and just feels right, like halo HD or something also, dualwielding is insanely overpowered
Cherry Coke from glass is best Coke.
Fucking cherry coke. I got addicted to the stuff while on vacation in the US. Of course, we don't have it in Canada for some reason.
Aye, PC Halo 2 It's a shitty console port but it looks alright and just feels right, like halo HD or something also, dualwielding is insanely overpowered
Its actually a pretty solid port, as ports go, imo. Performance is good, it looks better than the xbox version, no auto-aim or mouse acceleration stupidity. We should have a CIPWTTKT(&GC) Halo game :v:

Time to put on an eyepatch and grab a bottle of rum I guess.
I have Halo 1 but not 2 :(
Your basis of argument is a door handle? Are you kidding me? Let me use my own shitty car analogy since apparently fair is fair I could have bought a Mustang or any other powerful RWD sports car. What did I end up with? A base model Honda Prelude S. Why? I preferred the interior, the bulletproof reliability of Hondas, and the car was in great condition. But I guess I'm stupid for not getting a Mustang or something with more horsepower under the hood, because raw power is apparently the only thing that makes computers worth it.
Reliability is included in performance. Macs arent magically more reliable. In addition. the difference in this case is that your honda would be nearly twice the price of the mustang for worse performance. its not just about getting better performance, its about how much your getting for what you pay. And the fact is, very little.
Since this is so hard for you to comprehend, Apple computers are a lot more reliable. I have not seen a single one fail aside from reasons of negligence and poor ownership.
I have, and guess what, a good PC will never fail apart from the same reasons. there is nothing about macs that makes them magically better, why is this so hard to understand?
With Apple computers, you get way better support (Try calling Asus support for example, they're probably the best but they can still leave a lot to be desired. Apple's Genius bar has been the most painless support I've ever had. Walk in with a problem, walk out with it fixed guaranteed.)
Did you just compare call in support with walk in support?
There are only a few manufacturers that make decent consumer models. Dells are awful, HPs are awful, Acer is hit and miss, and Asus is probably the best. But the chassis for my new Asus laptop has a lot of flex in places. It gets hot just browsing the internet. Asus' software is sometimes very unreliable. Whereas if you'd just buy a mac, quote "It Just Works"
This is literally all anecdote. I could come up with true anecdotes that say the exact opposite with macbooks flexing, solid PCs, and broken mac software(talking about software at all in this context is dumb anyway) but it should be obvious to any sane individual that thats not how PCs work. Did you forget the bit about custom builds too? Obviously this doesnt work when talking about only laptops, we arent though.
Like I said, it's a fucking 2008 macbook. Time to upgrade. I've had a 6 year old Vaio with a Core Duo that ran windows terribly and W7 wasn't officially supported by Sony. So why doesn't Sony get any flak?
2008 that wasnt supported by 2010 mind you. thats 2 years of support, not nearly enough. To top it off, when macbooks "stop being supported" its a much bigger deal than windows because they limit you arbitrarily. Hey, here's an anecdote, the friend that bought that computer went with a PC afterwards and was happy that it performed so much better for the price and hasn't crapped out on him yet and wont for a good long while. Sony gets flak for its hardware if it deserves it. It doesn't make both the OS and the hardware, if it couldnt run windows then wheres the problem, software? hardware? They are different things. Welcome to the world of notmacs. naturally there are PC manufacturers much worse than apple. Chief among them, alienware/dell. They deserve all flak they get, but as ive said over and over again, PCs are all made by different manufacturers, there are PCs better and worse, get used to it.
Windows, by nature, is different and meant to install on different machines, hence its popularity. Microsoft only supports XP by applying security updates. Support of the OS to machines is down to manufacturers.
I never said they still supported it. I said they didn't limit your third party software because they no longer support it, bad reading. In addition, im pretty sure applying security updates does count as more support than apple gives out.
Don't knock it until you try it. XCode has been the best IDE I have ever seen. Pity it's solely for iOS development.
I didnt expect you to actually come out on the thread and say macs are better for professionals. Funny, really. Its a good fit though, fanboyism and your personality, that is.
