My experience with this kind of thing resulted in the floppy holder getting cut out of the case, then cut in half, split off so only the sides were left, then welded back into the case. I have no fucking idea why I did that but never again.
Well, I figured out two things 1: The metal is thicker then you think 2: Pliers without padding on the handle hurt ass hell when trying to get though metal mentioned in part 1 [editline]16th June 2012[/editline] Got it working anyway. Normal gripping parts don't hold it in place though, That would be the metal sticking out and pushing on the wall of the floppy+hdd area. Seems to work anway. Also removed CD drive, Floppy Drive, 2 IDE cables, 2 power cables going nowhere and a lot of other unneccesary shit. Even thinking of removing front USB ports since it would make the case a lot less crowded (fucking half meter cable shit) and since i just feel like it

I feel old even though I'm not.
Well this is interesting. Someone found a security bug in the processor - every single 64-bit Intel processor handles a certain condition wrong, which can lead to privilege-elevation under any OS that doesn't compensate for it. Oddly, both Linux and OpenBSD fixed it several years ago, but nobody seemed to think it was a security issue. Anyways, pretty much every 64-bit version of Windows is vulnerable, as is the Xen hypervisor (which led to several Linux distros that include it by default to be vulnerable). No word yet on OS X. It's not really a huge issue, since it requires an attacker to already be running code at user-level in order to work. But still very interesting to read about.
no time to read it, is it intel's implementation of x86_64 or is it IA64?
SYSRET apparently, which is something AMD introduced that isn't properly implemented on OSes running under Intel hardware Doesn't sound like it's entirely Intel's fault
SYSRET apparently, which is something AMD introduced that isn't properly implemented on OSes running under Intel hardware Doesn't sound like it's entirely Intel's fault
No, it's something that AMD introduced and Intel copied but implemented slightly differently so that if you follow the actual X86-64 spec you end up with this issue.
oh wow I'm gone for 24 hours and I managed to make another kiddie rage
Shut up already and learn to play nice, thanks
Therefore if you are implementing your software based on Intel's spec, nothing is gonna go wrong. If you're implementing it based on AMD's spec you should consider changing that for the sake of security, unless you're absolutely sure your OS will only be executed on AMD processors.
no that is intel's fault x86_64 is all AMD's spec. it's 100% intel's fault that they didn't implement sysret correctly

apparently amazon has no idea how to cancel an item. i'm pretty sure i canceled this the day i ordered it...
I was playing nice, he just lost a friendly ol' debate
Yeah arguing isn't a great idea. Referring to him as a 'raging kiddie' and your post about receiving pm's from some 'idiot' isn't playing nice (I don't know why I'm having to explain this). So play nice. THANKS <3
I had a look around the interwebs. Apparently, everything is completely fucked about it. Some guy was doing 2000 hits at level 1, when you're supposed to be doing about 2-4 and the mobs dropped 2000 gold. The only way to get a mob to drop 2000 gold is probably Inferno Act 4 with gold find gear. Because of the damage shit, you're looking at facerolling through however much of Act 1 the script kiddies bothered to datamine, and then you'll hit a brick wall. Oh and the auction house actually is a pretty required feature in Diablo 3, so enjoy grinding gear for a couple of years all by yourself just to get through Inferno Act 1/use cheats, if they're available. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone, at least the WoW server emulators work.
I am not saying it should be used, I am just telling that it exists. I mean the only real reason for that DRM was "anti piracy" and it have already been cracked, I hope Blizzard realizes that they can do nothing about it and won't ruin their customer'sexperience for a "better" copy protection next time I'd give it half of a year to be completely finished and functional

Starting to place together a list for a Mini-ITX build, I'm actually looking pretty forward to this build. This is the case I'm looking at so far.

I'm currently thinking of putting an EVGA GTX 670 (the full size one) in it but if I could save a fair amount of space (and heat) that'd be great. Now all I need to find is a good modular 140-150mm PSU.

The entire online-only thing has absolutely fucking nothing to do with anti-piracy, it's the auction house. Trust me, I'd love to have offline singleplayer, I'm starting to get pissed off due to mobs killing me even when I escape the attack animation, but either you make the game drop only items you can use (then it wouldn't be Diablo) or you give players a way to trade items between themselves (auction house, in-game trades etc.) Players already had online website trading sites for Diablo 2, it was a natural evolution for Blizzard to include an auction house in Diablo 3.
Players already had online website trading sites for Diablo 2, it was a natural evolution for Blizzard to include an auction house in Diablo 3.
Most of the items were dupes, though. I heard that the Pandemonium Diablo ("Diablo walks the Earth") event was made so they'd get rid of all those Stones of Jordan.
