Some hardcore people in the DIY eGPU thread on notebook review actually DIYed an adapter. I almost want to try this...
I don't know if I should feel proud or absolutely ashamed that I know exactly why and how that adapter works

I have a spare 4830 lying around and it would be awesome to try it.

It's also quite tedious and impractical since you need to hook up an external PSU with it, and having a GPU that can only render on external screens is pointless for most of the time.
From what I've skimmed, you can use an Nvidia card and their Optimus drivers to use your laptop screen, though that takes up some bandwidth of the already-limited expresscard and/or free mini-pcie slot. I thought I also read that it's possible to use a higher-wattage power brick with the premade adapter and use a graphics card that takes power from the slot exclusively (Radeon HD 7750, for example) so you don't need the full PSU. It's very interesting, though I don't need it considering I already have a desktop that's going to be more powerful than the laptop I'm going to order tomorrow.
i went to ikea today I wanted to take home a galant so bad but alas ain't fuckin' happenin' oh I had their meatballs too pretty delish. bought some microwaveables
when i was in portland i went in the morning so i could get free coffee and then sit in the displays and act like I was right at home and stare at people who tried to enter while i drank coffee and used the fake laptops
I finally hit the wall in my race for uptime on my iPhone. It was going all well until last night where stuff would just hang. I left it to the morning and no change :( I got one last SSH Screenie before I rebooted it.
USB 3.0 means nothing for current flash drives, because they use too little bandwidth to take advantage of the larger capacity.
Really? I transferred about 14gb of stuff onto a USB 3.0 drive using a 2.0 port, and then when I copied them onto another computer using a 3.0 port it was noticeably faster (1-2 minutes as opposed to the 8-10 minutes).
I ordered mine from NCIX, and picked it up in store since I live in Vancouver.
Well great for you! Could you give it a rating of #/10, possibly?
Rating for the case? Undoubtedly 10/10. The design is so perfect that I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about it.

We were considering the Silverstone SG05 as an alternate case for the machines, but I've actually used that one, and it is not fun to build in, nor is it great for cooling. It also is more expensive than the 80+Gold power supply we are using+Prodigy. On an unrelated note, was it you who did the XBox 360 computer or was it... arg I can't remember who it was. I want to say it was you, but I'm not certain. I remember you were involved in the discussion of it, though.

Hehe, GTX 560 ordered. Time to reinstall Crysis.
Android still has better multitasking than iOS, and if the price if that is real it's pretty neat

[editline]25th June 2012[/editline] Well, that's not entirely true, I mean Google can't even abide by their own UX guidelines... No wonder developers are a little confused when anything goes on this platform.

I hate how Google laid out UI guidelines for ICS with holo and all that and only a few of their apps actually follows it. Also they need to re-write it in something other than Java, something like C#

So, what do any of you guys think of triple SLI'ing 8800GTX's for kicks? I've got two perfectly working 8800's and I was thinking of trying to pick up another on ebay for hopefully at most $40. Do you guys think it'd be worth it? Running a 1920x1200 display.
