All my rage (now fueled by nuclear fuel cells).
I've actually never heard of palit before today, it was the only OEM who had a nice cooler and more VRAM with a wider bus for my 560. The Gigabyte coolers looked flimsy as hell.

Oh, the worst thing that can happen is your ordering the wrong socket processor, like I did... twice...
Palit GPU's are seriously underrated.
my old 9800 (that ran off of the PCI-e port solely) and 560Ti were awesome.

I've got a Palit 670, it's absolutely fantastic.
Please visit my topic, I'm having major issues with my motherboard.
Puush acts strange sometimes.
When i use the ctrl + shift + u shortcut (aka "upload selected file"), windows explorer will often crash. About 30% of the time actually.
Sometimes explorer keeps crashing every time its process restarts, even though puush.exe has been terminated, and I am forced to restart my computer.
Does anyone have any idea why?
Also, typing with a touchscreen is so weird and awkward :v:
I'm pretty sure it's more of a bug than trying to screw people over. The real question is if they going to fix it.
Hey guys I found a goldmine of content.

I hope this is just a bug, some auto detection system being stupid. But that thread just fills me with rage.
Haha!
a website called imo.im lets me use steam chat on my PS Vita!
Works okay as an emergency solution i guess :v:
Is there a guide to processor or graphics card model numbers? I've seen people who can tell if a card is better than another by just looking at the model number, no other info, with tons of different cards.
Depends on the brand and the generation.
With Radeon
Xooo is the generation
oXoo is the performance bracket
ooXo is sort of the sister cards in a bracket. E.G. 7970/7950
With Geforce
Xoo- is generation
oXo is performance bracket. E.G 670/680/690
Rarely is the last digit used.

What a shitty night. Haven't eaten in 15 hours and spent like 7 hours working on getting my machine back to normal.

My PC is now bluescreening... more often. For the past couple weeks it might do it every 4-5 days or so. Wasn't a driver failure, I think it was memory I think.

I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt here.

On the grounds of Hanlon's razor.
I think I found out why.
Turns out when I flashed my BIOS with a new version, it wipes all my saved profiles with it, so my saved OC setttings were gone as well.
So i went in and did it by memory... and forgot to set voltages.......................
So I was at 4.5ghz at 1.005volts all this time. No wonder I was crashing constantly. Back up to 1.375 and my computer is doing fine.

My Palit 9800GTX+ started to melt when it didn't shut down after hitting 110C while playing WoW.
Wasn't a good day but luckily it only started to flex before I heard the little "tick" of plastic flexing, shutdown the PC straight away and let it cool, drivers crashed all the time after that.
I'm in Computing currently and the others in the class are having to watch a History of Computing documentry from 1992.

OH, Transistors have been invented now.
You must of had a bad card.
My old GT220 never hit above 60c and the fan was so quiet it was almost impossible to hear it. Performance was okay-ish (aslong as you weren't trying to play Crysis past 1600x1200 on a craptastic CPU)
Fuck god I'm page king again.
The GT220 is just a die shrink of the 9400GT, a very shitty card. The thermal output can't really be compared, but the 8800GTs and 9800GTXs were notoriuos for overheating.
Wow, that was fast, I only picked free delivery and my new monitors arrived first thing this morning.
Do any of you have any problems with Nvidia graphics cards flickering over dvi->hdmi on windows 8?
Now that I've ordered the GTX 670 I need to get the other parts (please be kind and check this thread and tell what you think).
Can't wait to play BF3 (and Photoshop) smoothly. What else there is to do with a brand new computer?
Should I record an hour long video of me running around the field like an idiot?
What the fuck are the differences on all the 8800 GTS, GTX, GT etc?
Same for the 9800 versions? Isn't the 9800 version just a die shrink or only a rebranded 8800?
Didn't know jackshit about hardware back when they were popular and never cared enough to catch up.
I'm going to give my current computer for my parents, although it isn't the lightest computer just for web browsing.
I might put the old 8800GT in and maybe sell the GTX 460. The latter could work as a dedicated PhysX card...
No games really use PhysX... other than Arkham City.
The right side of my headphones just died.
Guess it is time to use my god-awful headset now.
All of the parts for my computer are coming in tomorrow, and my bro got me Diablo 3 for my birthday.
Yay, and I just realized how much the resolution affects performance.
Until my father gets home and we can solder the cables back into place so I can use my awesome headphones what are held together by duct tape and magic.
