I'd rather get like, six 1440p monitors - but I could if I so desired!
Get one of those, 27 inches or bigger and play some NES games in glorious high definition.
Get one of those, 27 inches or bigger and play some NES games in glorious high definition.
I plan to, but I don't have room right now. And I actually prefer small monitors, given the same resolution.
I thought you were overstating the price of the Railworks collection, but it is over $2,000! I wonder if anyone actually bought the whole collection.
So when *do* the Steam Sales start? Because my wallet? Totally ready. Railworks, and all it's DLC? I could actually buy that. I'm not going to, because that would be a stupid thing to do with $2,000 - I'd rather get like, six 1440p monitors - but I could if I so desired! For the last two summers, I've been unemployed, at school, my savings steadily dwindling. I bought very few games. But now, for the first time in a long time, I can see a Steam Sale and say "Yup. Imma buy that, and that, and that, and that, and I'll buy that whole series just because I want that one game and it's cheaper this way". And if my laptop *finally* shows up before the sale, I can actually play them!
If it goes on sale my guess the DLC will be down to $1k/$500ish.
Well, if it's possible to convert or re-write the code needed from the original into Unity or whatever engine is used (as long as it can handle a giant universe and don't even fucking think about source, it stops at 4096x4096) it's possible to re-create it.
If you made everything small scale Source would probably work, believe it or not.
I plan to, but I don't have room right now. And I actually prefer small monitors, given the same resolution.
GentleGman, behold: THE IBM T221! 21 inches of monitor. 3840x2400. Four DVI links(twin dual-links split into 2 single-link cables each.) 48 hertz. Dual power supplies. 9.2 megapixels. I want one so badly, even if no GPU on the planet can drive games at full res by itself with a decent framerate(690 doesn't count as it has 2 GPU's.) Also the darn thing is thick. You can get one for about a thousand bucks, which I think is pretty good considering you can get a u3011 with a *mere* 2440x1600 resolution for $1200.
Speaking of the summer sale, what games would play well on a Core 2 Duo and a GMA 4500MHD? Preferably that don't need a whole lot of mousing around.
You do realize I'd have to create my own server application just to handle the huge amount of shit that would go on each time someone jumped let's say New York to Texas for example. First off all you gotta code the almost seemless load so that yes everyone in a different system that don't switch stay in that system. Then you also have to code the system that the player has jumped from and to the other system. Remember this all needs to fit in one map or else you'll have everyone pissed off because they were in the Texas when someone wants to go to New Tokyo. That's kind of why I ruled out Source.
Fair enough, Source isn't good at processing all that shit. Hmm.

Just played video games with friends for like 6 hours @_@
Just played video games with friends for like 6 hours @_@
Pssh, I've done it for 12 hours before.
If whoever is doing this ever gets anywhere I'd be willing to test it.
24 hours straight for charity.
I was honestly considering buying it until I saw that it only ran at 48Hz
It can be overclocked to 55Hz or so
But human eye can only see 24 FPS so what's the point?
But human eye can only see 24 FPS so what's the point? :v:
that's a big fat lie [editline]gay[/editline] iirc that's the minimum amount of frames for an animation to actually seem animated
I wish Facepunch got the emoticons back. It was much easier to write sarcasm with them.
I wish Facepunch got the emoticons back. It was much easier to write sarcasm with them.
it's called putting it in spoilers or writing it in 3 sub tags [sub][sub][sub]like this, so if anyone quotes or scrolls through the post they can read that you put "sarcasm"[/sub][/sub][/sub]
The pizza guys are gonna love you, when you say you can't pay for it/didn't order it, iirc, the delivery guy gets to keep the pizza.
Hey Wingie, if I become a delivery guy, can you sometimes send some pizzas I like while I'm on my shift? :3 kthnxbai.
I wish Facepunch got the emoticons back. It was much easier to write sarcasm with them.
Use the SA vision script
But human eye can only see 24 FPS so what's the point? :v:
Uh, no. Maybe with perfect temporal antialiasing, or with good-enough temporal antialiasing and a limited rate of motion, as you get in film (even film camera's don't do it perfectly, they cut out part of the inter-frame motion). But computer-generated real-time graphics? 60Hz, minimum. 120Hz or even 240Hz if possible (although the latter mainly because it easily handles most major framerates).
But human eye can only see 24 FPS so what's the point? :v:
The eye does not see in FPS, and the difference between 60hz and 120hz is very easy to see.
Use the SA vision script
Is there a way to make it work only on Facepunch?
i found a real nice Dell notebook
hi guys: semi random question should i change my name on facepunch?

Most you'll find on amazon and ebay are probably all beaten up to hell. They weren't exactly popular. [editline]27th June 2012[/editline]
hi guys: semi random question should i change my name on facepunch?
Why waste $10 on that?
yeah, thats what i thought thanks SirCrest sexual enthusiast and that dog
8:54 PM - (Fat scoot) DustySheep: Battlefield 3 ran flawlessly with that card (7770) and CPU(some core 2 duo)
somehow i doubt this is true [editline]27th June 2012[/editline] also, the supposed settings: all the highest, on 1920x1080 i mean with that card, sure, but the CPU is a fucking massive bottleneck
