I just use LastPass now, I have the one massive master password + Google authenticator on my phone to access my passwords and now all of my other passwords are pure gibberish. An example of a password generated just now: 9V8gbN5K@S
What does google authenticator do? I see it every time on the settings but still haven't figured it out.
First, you sync your account with the Google authenticator app on your phone. Then, every 30 seconds, it generates a random string of numbers, like 468713. Then, when you log into your account, you have to enter your master password, and then you also have to enter the random six digit number to log in. This is known as dual factor authentication- in order to log in, you have to have both something that only you would know (your password,) and something that only you would have (your cellphone.) So even if some hacker gets your password somehow, it's useless to him unless he also has your phone. They have other forms of dual factor authentication on Lastpass. For example, you can print out a grid of numbers and carry that around in your wallet. Then, whenever you log in, you have to enter your password, and then it prompts you with coordinates on the grid, such as A1, B3, D 7, F4. Then you have to enter the values that match up in those cells. [editline]30th April 2012[/editline] It would look like this. I have lastpass on autologin, there goes my security :v:
I have lastpass on autologin, there goes my security :v:
Actually on my home computer, I have dual factor disabled because I could potentially lose my phone. [editline]30th April 2012[/editline] Probably shouldn't have admitted to that. [editline]30th April 2012[/editline] But seriously I could rant on for ages as to why I think LastPass is the coolest goddamn thing ever.
Does LastPass work only on browser? Then I'm not switching from KeePass.
It has a desktop application.
Does LastPass work only on browser? Then I'm not switching from KeePass.
Where else would you need it? [editline]30th April 2012[/editline]
It has a desktop application.
Wait what o.O

That's awesome, thanks!
so i broke one of the bones in my foot and it hurts like fuck
Does LastPass work only on browser? Then I'm not switching from KeePass.
You can download an application from their website called LastPass Pocket, which allows you to access your database offline.

Although I wonder how much the box adds to shipping.
Better than the 590 which came in an ammo box... which didn't make sense.
That's awesome, thanks!
Check out IE Anywhere, which you can throw on your USB stick and it will allow lastpass to hook into any browser on any windows machine that doesn't have the plugin installed already and you can use that to take advantage of their awesome auto-complete features. I should mention LastPass' awesome auto-complete. It will automatically learn passwords when you use them and will offer to log in automatically next time. It also detects when you're making a new account and will offer to automatically generate the password for you.

[editline]30th April 2012[/editline] "durr fancy packaging, that'll reel them in" i guess that's better than the amd philosophy of MORE CORES MORE CORES MORE CORES
Oh, and apparently LastPass is working with Windows integration: You log into your windows account with your LastPass account, and it will then automatically save and input passwords for applications like Skype, Steam, etc as well as websites. I'm done, I swear.

Goddamnit, I'm trying to update my routers runtime firmware to the latest version but it keeps crashing and then it doesn't recognize any DNS servers and it doesn't fucking work until I reboot it.
I'd just login to the online vault tbh.
I don't like doing that because then you have to manually copy and paste the passwords and that's just so awkward.
I use the dicewear wordlist to generate passwords, and then i roll some more dice to randomly replace characters in the password with capital letters, numbers, and symbols. [editline]30th April 2012[/editline] Example I just generated.
Mine's not quite so powerful, but it's good enough: Couple things: 1) what the fuck is up with the font 2) If the service I'm signed up with takes 12 years to realize there's someone trying to break in, then they probably suck and I'd have cancelled my account by the time they succeed.
It's talking about an offline attack you dummy if someone gets a copy of the database
And then a fucking giant thunderstorm is now above me. No rain or anything, the thunder is barely audible. fucking bright though.
Found this on a site I usually shop on; Voilà! :v:
Oh no. I don't understand why people keep those screen films on for so long. Shit gets ripped off day 1.
