Is there such thing as a silent blocker that just resets the connection to the websites blocked?
Because I'm at the house we rented now and it has internet, but 90% of images on sites don't load that are on some sort of image server(s), like imgur and DeviantART. Even a ton of images on Speedtest aren't working.
It just says connection reset.
I don't want to have to use a proxy...
Hahah, found out that it was a temporary filter for the people here previously or a bug with their router/modem/ISP/whatever.
Nothing is blocked anymore.
Uhm why the fuck ask us? You just pointed out yourself that there's no difference, so get it wherever you want and buy DLC on Steam if you want it.
My question was more about the price, will it drop below the 6€ point in the summer sale or not?
Oh well, I should go tomorrow and buy it I guess. Haven't bought a retail game in ages.
It probably won't go below 5 € anymore, no.
I'm so conflicted about the Leap. I would love to get one if it works like they demonstrated in the tech demos, but I'm still being a little bit skeptical.
a classic cipwttkt post by me, I always miss this thread

I'm upgrading my tablet soon, I've had a Wacom Intuos3 A4-size (pictured) for a while but it's getting kinda buggy on me, there are some spots on the surface with a little bit of a warp to where it thinks the pen is, and the pen will randomly right-click or think it's being held down from time to time. It was also my sister's birthday coming up, and she's been interested in getting a tablet and already done some drawing with me, but my girlfriend already laid claim to my intuos to replace her tiny dead bamboo fun; she doesn't draw nearly as much as me so all the ticks it has won't be a bother to her, it's still a helluva upgrade.
SO, I set off to Best Buy to pick up a new bamboo create for my sister, and to look if they had the intuos5 Large model in-store, though I didn't plan on buying one quite yet
I walk down to the electronics section and dig around a bit where they used to keep the tablets stacked, and it's just printers now. I look around a bit more and can't find anything, so when a guy came up to me to ask if I needed help, I said "yeah, where do you keep your tablets?", and as he looked over at the giant stand in the middle of the electronics section I followed quickly by a correction of "not ipad tablets, but graphic tablets. You know, for drawing"
"well, all of our tablets have drawing apps, so-"
"nonono, uhhh... Wacom brand. It's a big pad that you draw on and connect to your computer, use a pen..."
"uhh, not sure I've ever heard of way-comb before... you can get a pen accessory that works with our tablets though. You want me to show you where those are?"
"I just... do you know if anyone else has 'heard of wacom' before? I know you guys carry them but they're not over here anymore, I just need to be pointed in the right direction".
"look, if it's not with the other tablets, we don't carry it. I've never heard of it before, probably not a major brand we'd carry"
I was pretty frustrated by this point and just said "whatever, I'll just keep digging" and walked off. Figured I'd go and dig around the camera junk and see how much SD cards are right now, and- oh, what's that?
a fucking stack of Wacom tablets underneath a stack of camera tripods
exactly where they belong!!
I walked it over to the guy and mentioned that they're jammed under a shelf of random camera junk in the section across the aisle, and immediately he said "OHHHH! WAY-COMMMB! I remember now!" with a kind of blank grin and a nod whilst looking confused at the package.
I fucking knew this would happen when the ipad first started calling itself a tablet, I was already outraged at the time because it wasn't even a tablet PC, which I had at the time

How old was your old tablet?
I have a small one, one of the Bamboo tablets, and it's over 3-4 years old and it works just fine. Surface is worn to a shine and there's some gashes (friends, not me), but other then cosmetic damage there's not a thing wrong with it.
I just find it weird when I hear/see about people and their physically damaged stuff, when the only damaged thing I ever have (that I caused damage to) is my older handheld consoles (GBA, 1st gen DS) when I was younger and had butterfingers.
Are you trying to tell me best buy employees don't know shit about technology??

when you use it as constantly as I do (and travel with it) it wears down hard. Got it when the intuos 3 line was released, so... summer/fall of 2004

Woah woah woah...
Let's not get too hasty now.

Oh, so it's older then mine and you travel with it and use it a shitload. Okay.
I just thought you always dropped it or dropped stuff on it or was just a plain old klutz with it. But now I understand v:v:v
I keep forgetting that there's an outside and that people go in it.

The one time I went to best buy to scope out laptops for my sister, the sales floor kid tried pressuring me into getting a DV6 because it has "lots of RAM"
It had 2GB of RAM. The HDD was 500GB though!

Shoulda said "My sister prefers her legs not extra crispy, thanks."

I seriously think bamboo make their tablets/pens break after a certain amount of time just to grab more money
I've went through 6 pens and 3 bamboo P + T's :(
I have been really busy with stuff lately and after one too many delays I have managed to ship my 6870s to ManningQB18 and TonyTheBean.
Sadly I'm retarded and left the UPS papers and tracking codes at work and I won't be able to get them until tomorrow :/
ANYWAY, here are the cards in all their glory.

That joke is getting old.
They're no longer in my possession :)
I have this now.

I've got a Bamboo Capture and it's the best thing. Don't know why you'd buy your sis the create since it just seems too large imo
Had that same "tablet? oh you mean Ipad?" problem when I bought mine, companies should really start marketing them as digitizers or something.
I need a tablet.
I don't want to walk into Best Buy and ask about them, because I know I'll just wind up yelling "OY, DUMBASS, THAT AIN'T A TABLET, THAT'S A FUCKING COASTER." and making some poor little 4 year old cry or some shit like that.
Galaxy Nexus 7?
Galaxy Nexus 7?
Based on the context I think he's talking about digitizers
A graphics tablet (also digitizer, digitizing tablet, graphics pad, drawing tablet or pen tablet)
why don't they use any of these terms
Well, I almost made it to a computer to pay makol. But no, power just went out. Totally normal day, and the power poops out. Not that it matters, because the Internet went out 20 minutes before that. I hate this place. (I'm at our beach house). It is up by Chicago, so we just narrowly dodged 90 mph winds
Basically
unless otherwise specified
presume tablet does not mean portable computing equipment

Where I live I didn't even know it happened.
But apparently someone was outside during it and a tree fell right on him and killed him.
I should have known that. Fuck I have the entire Stargate collection (minus atlantis)
The entire Stargate collection minus atlantis is only half a Stargate collection :v:
Guys, you'd never guess how i found out that spain won the UEFA (some football shit for europe) final.
Football fans screaming and hollering in joy, air horns, car horns, chants of "espana", you name it.
It made for an awesome atmosphere, even if my hearing is probably destroyed.
[editline]1st July 2012[/editline]
Spain completely annihilated italy with 4 to 0 respectively
I always thought that'd be cool to run around screaming and no one would give a shit because pride

Concerts
Scream and jump like an idiot and don't care since you are surrounded by a lot of people doing the same. Great feeling

Even the most common terms for them other then just tablet doesn't get through to them.
I just say "That little thingy with the pen that when you draw on it it shows up on the computer screen"
That usually does it

For a first timer I'd just advise getting a bamboo, very good for beginners/amateurs.
Amazon sells em cheap.
Main difference between touch and non touch are the extra tablet buttons (Which are very handy) and the pen eraser side.

And the touch sensitivity. You don't necessarily want the touch sensitivity.
