-snip i'm a retard-
It appears that reverting to 12.2 fixed it (second gpu went down because i alt+tabbed)
Maybe I'm just not hearing the full story, but every time a new AMD release is out, all I seem to hear is, " REVERT BACK REVERT BACK" LIke, how far do people need to go.

Which is pretty infrequent.
I always just get a driver release that works and then I never upgrade it until I have problems with a new release. After that it's just like russian roulette trying to find the version to go to.
since no matter what drivers i have installed games dont work i dont bother rolling back because anything would be an improvement
WOOH.
I "shee" what you did thar.
does msi make good boards?
I'm already waiting for two people to ring me tomorrow asking why their internet is broken Both of them have those toolbars that hijack all your search engines and homepages to theirs (Conduit) One of them I have hope for, because he noticed something was up straight away and managed to fix it himself
You know, I had that idea as well. The SSE/AVX SIMD units function quite like a GPU core in many ways. You would, however, need quite a lot of them - probably in the 20-60 range. Since we're unlikely to get that many actual cores for a while, though, this would require detaching SIMD units from the rest of the core. Potentially very tricky.
Vector architectures don't work like that. Number of vector pipelines is what matters, not number of cores - for instance, the NEC SX-9 is a ridiculously high-performance vector CPU and is single-core. This generates confusion when Nvidia and AMD insist on referring to vector pipes as "cores", which they are not.

It has worked so far.
does msi make good boards?
yes
I'm apparently just living in ignorant happiness - I just "download" everytime CCC reminds me of a new driver version.
does msi make good boards?
Elaborating on what reap said: They're good quality boards, but generally when looking I've found other better boards for a similar price. Not some huge statistical analysis, but general observation.
I'm using the 12.7 beta drivers, works for me.
Now that I realize it, the microstuttering isn't fixed...
I've not experienced microstuttering myself. What is it, and how is it different from regular stuttering?
Got a lappy from my coworker. I will have to decrapify a HP Pavilion G6. It has norton :c
DBAN is the only solution.
Got a lappy from my coworker. I will have to decrapify a HP Pavilion G6. It has norton :c
God have mercy
Yeah, I have two choices. Either to decrapify or just format and reinstall. It is brand-newish though, 3 days old as he said.
for some reason i read decrapify as pacify so i was really confused there like the laptop was vicious or something
then it has nothing personal or useful to the owner DBAN
for some reason i read decrapify as pacify so i was really confused there like the laptop was vicious or something
Yeah, if you look at it funny it'll give you third degree burns
What about if the key on the bottom of it doesn't work? What will I do then? I mean if it is already used and does not reregister or some shit?
What about if the key on the bottom of it doesn't work? What will I do then? I mean if it is already used and does not reregister or some shit?
as long as it is on the same laptop that won't be a problem
My asus came without windows installed and when I finally typed the key in correctly it worked just fine on an OEM Windows 7 disc
