An actual review > a preview
It is an actual review. [editline]5th May 2012[/editline] Looks like the article images are broken.
I kind of make silly title names. But how are those puns?
"True Shit" is a play on words on the title of "True Grit", a famous western-themed novel. The game being riffed on under that title is a western-themed game and is absolutely horrible, thus is "Tru(ly)e Shit". "Character Assassination: Authorized" is not a pun, though. Sadly, jokes aren't as funny when you have to explain them. Both of the titles make more sense when you have context.
Wtf, setting up that VM took like forever and half. Or it was a fucking long 40 minutes. [editline]5th May 2012[/editline] Now, unprotected Vista with IE7.
http://iloveubuntu.net/yorba-launched-geary-01-fancy-email-client-ppa-available Oh cool, basically Apple's Mail (Lion Version) for Linux. Well, this is just making it easier and easier to switch to Linux in the future.
It is an actual review. [editline]5th May 2012[/editline] Looks like the article images are broken.
Then why does the article title say "preview"? Unless Tweaktown actually calls their reviews that, which make no sense.
What makes Apple's Mail special?' I mean this academically.
I just like the way it works. I've actually never had a mail client that doesn't have a whole bunch of useless information displayed for me. I just want to see the list of emails I have, and the entire email. [t]http://puu.sh/t6op[/t] I tried so hard to find a mail client for Windows that did that. Couldn't find one. It's obviously not the best out there for Mac, and there are similar solutions like Sparrow for Mac that would do it, but I've just not had the $10 to drop on the non-ad supported version. And Thunderbird is nice, I will admit that, but it just always seemed so cluttered. I would always end up switching to the website to check my mail instead.
I see. I'm not in to the whole mail client thing, I tried Thunderbird a few times but I still don't see any reason to switch from the in-browser Gmail.
Well for me, I enjoy the desktop notifications I get when I get mail. They'll get even better with Lion as well. I use clients on Linux and Mac because they have things like this built in. I got notifications on Ubuntu all the time when I got mail. Never got anything like that on any client with Windows. It's probably better to just pin gmail, turn on desktop notifications in Chrome, and go with it.
Try reading it.
I did, it's a preview as far as I'm concerned.
My E5200 has an underclocking problem. Does your E5700 do that too? Mine should be running at 3GHz but is at 1.5Ghz. Stock is 2.5Ghz
According to my motherboard the e5700 "has a 200mb bus which isn't compatible with this card, will run at reduced performance" but it seems to be running at 3GHz.
Every other day, at 1:41PM, T-Mobile harasses me with the same text to install their awful mobile security app. [t]http://niggaupload.com/images/xiLsn.png[/t] :colbert:
According to my motherboard the e5700 "has a 200mb bus which isn't compatible with this card, will run at reduced performance" but it seems to be running at 3GHz.
As far as i know the underclocking 'problem' is a feature. My 2500k is OC'd to 4.5GHz but underclocks to 1.5-1.6 when i don't need to be using 95W+ of power

It is supposed to go up when on high load, but for me it does not. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/32264365/lambi/noup.PNG
Don't you need to have turbo enabled as well or am I confusing things again
775 does not have a Turbo button afaik. Atleast I don't. well, Motherboard settings have the turbo config and that is turned on. Also installed the Gigabytes tool for OC-ing and stuff but it made me BSOD and it looked like shit and changed the fan speed to loud.
so i was talking with dustysheep about me maybe making a tf2 bot for the heck of it which did 2 weapons/scrap metal exchange and did a scrap for a specific weapon, and i used tf2wh as an example, and said "i wonder how they (the bots) work"
1:31 PM - Dustysheep: 1. http://videocardz.com/32728/geforce-gtx-670-review-tweaktown
I'm a bit wary about that preview - in many games the 7970 is competing with the GTX 580 (I wasn't insanely thorough, but that's what I observed), which I'm pretty sure we all agree on is not the case. I'll wait for reviews on other tech sites before judging. Wouldn't surpirse me if it matched the 7970 in performance, but I would like more reviews.
well, Motherboard settings have the turbo config and I that is turned on.
I was referring to this specifically. Dunno what the problem is. Did you also set it to allow the OS to change your CPU freq?
I was referring to this specifically. Dunno what the problem is. Did you also set it to allow the OS to change your CPU freq?
No idea, I don't think that there is a special button for that in my BIOS.
Thinking about building a new computer here soon, is ivy bridge really awesome or what?
Oh, wingless, to answer your question... VLC's buffer overflowed trying to play back a 480p video. I'm going to try over-clocking it later on, you just type a frequency into the /boot/config.txt file! [editline]5th May 2012[/editline] http://elinux.org/RPi_config.txt#Overclocking_options Overvolting permanently voids the warrenty, however.
WHY do people still use bink video? (or why did they EVER?) is it that hard to play a video in your game? what exactly does bink do? I see it in all the splash screens
It's a video plugin for those pre rendered cutscenes.
what exactly does bink do? I see it in all the splash screens
It's a proprietary video file format (.bik) I have no idea why they use videos over real time, i always hate it when im playing a game in good quality, then some shitty cutscene plays.
I believe it was mainly used because it was high-compression but also fast to decode, compared to standard video codecs. It was also packaged with other useful middleware, making it a logical choice for game companies. Doesn't really make as much sense to use it anymore - I don't think I've seen it in years.
