I just noticed that ASUS' Z77 Sabertooth has a PCIe x1 above the first x16 slot. That's genius.
Why is that?
Because quantum math is incredibly slow and clunky for most things.
Want to know the most complex algorithm that's been done on a quantum computer?
3x5=15 on 5 atoms.
Everything to do with Quantum computers is Shors algorithm, Shors algorithm is basically useless for most math, which, if you didn't guess, is what most computers do for everything.
You will never ever ever ever have a quantum computer in your home. Quantum is never replacing Silicon, that's Graphene's job.
And now I noticed a lot of other motherboards have it too. Well don't I feel like a fool.
Informative.

I know, it was a joke. :v:
Anyone know where I can get education discounts on a new, non-upgrade, non-OEM copy of Windows 7 in Australia?

close enough?
Sager NP9150
HNNG
GTX 675M
Ivy Bridge i7-3610M
$1400
how is this possible

There's still a mechanical drive in that. You could just stick an SSD in there though, then it should be totally silent (unless the mobo has a non-passive northbridge cooler, I didn't check).

Well, if you have it on the floor then you won't hear the hard drive at all. Best part is if you put it on the floor it won't get dusty because nothing to suck in the dust.

I was just pointing out that it still isn't *silent* without an SSD. Also, dust will still get drawn in by convection no matter where you put it in your room.

What if your room is a clean room.
What if your room is a clean room.
What about the fact that unless you have your room hermetically sealed and only even enter it through a clean airlock wearing a completely sealed bodysuit with a airline so that your can't have any air leave or enter it you will always end up with dust in your room, simply because dust is coming off you all the time in the form of dead skin cells.

the mobo is all passive and it does have an SSD in it though

I swear that TTL specced with a mechanical drive though? Or am I not remembering right?
Should I buy this for a T61? My current battery's model no. is 42T5262.

You know you live in Australia when seeing a GTX 670 at its actual RRP of $399 seems like an amazing bargain compared to the $500-600 we seem to be seeing over here.
Not sure whether to sell my GTX 570 and get a GTX 670 or just grab another 570. Hmm choices....
So I also only just found out the newer motherboards have graphical BIOS' with mouse input.
I feel old.
That hit me by surprise when I got my i5. Even the cheap-ass board I got for my llano had it.
I was impressed by the fact it could read the (NTFS!) partitions on all the drives and you could browse for EFI extensions and new files to flash the BIOS with, odd.
Feels weird changing BIOS settings with a mouse :s

It feels like a tinker toy, where is my good old BIOS 1.0, I should have chosen a lower end board.

Nothing will beat the REAL EFI shell for me. Graphical UEFI on all the new motherboards is fancy, but the concept of your bios already having a proper OS of it's own that you can write your own programs for (People have even made small games for it) is just fucking awesome.

How often do you use the BIOS for it to bug that much?
Or are you just bitching to bitch.

I'm surprised he isn't using XP SP1 honestly.
