But why? Its simple once you install it.
shit package manager. use portage or dpkg if you want a decent one
also close enough to being content:
Glad I'm not the only one that hates Arch.

I want to dual boot with ubuntu but installing my wireless adapter drivers is a pain
I've only used Arch's package manager once, I usually just download and compile on my own.
does anyone know how to strip down the size of a windows XP install as much as possible in terms of size? i'm trying to do something with this old laptop i have, but it has a pretty small hard drive
how small?
totally broke the screen replacement for my iphone i pulled on the digitizer cable accidentally and it just separated
Package managers the way I see them: Portage: God tier package manager, even if it's a bit complicated to learn at first. Yum: Quite a nice manager. People claim to have problems with it but I've never encountered anything. Apt: A bit lacking in my opinion, but still a nice package manager. Zypper (openSUSE): I didn't use this one much, but from what I did use it seemed alright. Pacman: Piece of shit. It's arguments are nonsense, it's packages don't fucking work, you have to rely ENTIRELY on user packages to get anything interesting installed, it's just garbage across the board. [editline]12th May 2012[/editline] also today I learned I can pause the PartedMagic bootup process by turning on scroll lock
How does my IB/Kepler build look? I have enough spare hard drives to fill around 2 TB of space? http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=13975369
Yum is pretty nice, I like its repos, actually having a file that contains the configuration for that specific repo instead of just a plain list.
Pepper;35932529']how small?
basically as small as you can get it [editline]13th May 2012[/editline] oh, you meant the laptop's hard drive it's 12gb but i want to put about 10 gb worth of stuff on there and have some swap space left
How does my IB/Kepler build look? I have enough spare hard drives to fill around 2 TB of space? http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=13975369
Why two completely different GPU's? 560 Ti dedicated PhysX or some stupid shit? Also poor choice on the Hyper 212, it isn't that much better then Intel stock.

I'd go for 8GB of ram instead of 16 unless you really need it, and that 128gb SSD might be too much for your needs. Oh, and is there a particular reason you're going to buy both a 560ti and a 670?
Also poor choice on the Hyper 212, it isn't that much better then Intel stock.
are you high
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185173 The above is a pretty nice cooler.
because i forget to remove the 560ti from the wishlist
Oh, that's what I figured. But yeah, that's a rather nice build.
are you high
ok fine, its better then intel stock but it has no room for overclocking on it, especially with IB which runs hot.
And should I go with the 212 or the Scythe smace linked?
212
thanks
Last time I got a Hyper 212 for a small build one of the heatpipes cracked after a week of use.
Just because you got a shit product one time doesn't make it a bad cooler.
ok fine, its better then intel stock but it has no room for overclocking on it, especially with IB which runs hot.
what
Just because you got a shit product one time doesn't make it a bad cooler.
Its not just that, it performs poorly on 125W+. You get what you pay for. Something like a 10 C difference between them. [editline]13th May 2012[/editline]
what
Raising voltage increases overall CPU TDP.. tell me you knew this.
Yum: Quite a nice manager. People claim to have problems with it but I've never encountered anything.
Installed Fedora for the first time on my laptop on Friday, haven't had any issues with yum yet.
smace stop posting.
Raising voltage increases overall CPU TDP.. tell me you knew this.
I do it's that what you're saying is kinda dumb, and inaccurate to a point I overclocked the fuck out of a Q6600, a 2500k, and a 955 with a 212+ and that shit stayed cool
