why would you spend $180 on a case, jesus
Some cases are worth that much, though not many are.
How is it worth that much, it doesn't even include a PSU or anything.
How is it worth that much, it doesn't even include a PSU or anything.
Because Corsair 800D.
Get the K version of the CPU.
Why? I'm not planning on overclocking and there's a 0.1ghz difference for something like $25.
why would you spend $180 on a case, jesus
Because I'm a tasteless fuck and I like glowy lights :V
Because Corsair 800D.
Totally worth it, so easy to work with.
And I'm 100% sure you're on about the case not the camera this time :v:
I've had a corsair obsidian 800d and it's not worth it, expensive cases never are.
It's nothing but an e-peen enhancer and anyone who says otherwise either hasn't ever owned a large expensive case or has a tiny e-peen.
They are huge, bulky, very heavy and cumbersome to move, cumbersome to position in your room in a manner that doesn't take up an assload of space. Airflow isn't much better than a $50 case (after a while adding more fans doesn't make your pc any cooler), the extra features like tool-less mounting and cable management routing are standard in even budget cases nowadays. The side window is a pain in the ass because it will get scratched so easily it's not even funny.
In the end all you've done is wasted $200 for a pathetic e-peen enhancer and a world of inconveniences that nobody will respect you or look up to you more for.
Get a $50 case, it'll be just as good. You don't need half a cubic meter left over inside the case for cable management, a midi tower is large enough.
I'm currently using a cheap as crap midi tower with a single 120mm intake in the front and a 92mm exhaust in the back. The only time I notice the temperatures being worse than the 800d is if I overclock everything way beyond sane levels and run benchmarks for hours.
Put the $150 you save by not getting a huge case into a better graphics card or a better cpu or an SSD and enjoy leagues better performance. Don't waste your money on a shiny novelty item. Once the wow factor wears off and you realize just how much money you wasted you'll regret it just like I did.
Trust me, it's not worth it.
But my fractal design case is shiny!
With some modding the xigmatek asgard is pretty much perfect.

Most of your argument was "It's bad for aircooling".
No shit, it's a watercooling case. You don't buy an 800D and only stick fans in it. That's a damned waste.
I think I am not going to wait with my upgrade and go AM3 and 960T.
Why? Because I don't have much money right now and would like an upgrade. I only have ~200€
Just get an i3 omg
Oh right. Forgot about that :V
But how does an i3 compare to a 960T and the unlocked version?

While I don't agree with the whole thing, I agree with the last part. Using money on better parts should come before buying a better case. BRT5470 already had a good computer, and as such he can justify the case, but I'll never recommend getting a case before parts.

Then you misunderstood.
My main argument is that it's a completely pointless waste of money.

Haha!
Dells and HPs usually run hotter. Also my MacBook never got as hot as the whiners in there are claiming played Source game and even Crysis on mine and it barely got hot.
I hate retarded Mac jokes.
Yeah I guess if it's for watercooling it's worth it but if it's not it's still a hunk of metal and plastic with some fans and shit which isn't any better than a $50 one unless you need ~~mad ventilation for your overclock'd hardware~~
Then you misunderstood.

The only real valid things from your argument is the side panel window, weight/size which is obvious and e-peen which is sort of but not exactly subjective.
I do agree with you on the Parts-before-case thing, though.
If I'm going to have a PC I might as well have it in a case I like the look of.
Oh right. Forgot about that :V

It's better with half the cores, so poorly threaded applications will work better. Plus you won't need a new motherboard when you upgrade to an i5.

i3's have the best single core perf of anything right now. They be nice.
aye, an i3 is going into my new machine for sure (unless by the time I can afford it Ivy Bridge comes out and is around the same price for a better performance, of makes the price of an i5 drop)
I tried to close a game but it didn't so I'm just going to play it some more.
This is a new level of laziness.

Ideally you want your case to last through multiple builds. A shit case with shit airflow makes for a shit computer. El-cheapo cases generally have bad cable management, bad build quality, and bad looks.
It's so hard. I'm playing hard reset on insane. It's nice to have a game so difficult I have to give up occasionally.

It's almost like negative lazyness
Maybe if Word didn't close when i tried to, i might get some work done
It's so hard. I'm playing hard reset on insane. It's nice to have a game so difficult I have to give up occasionally.
Is it genuinely hard, or is it just artificially difficult? (i.e. super-high enemy health, bad controls, etc.)

IB is out?
Unless you mean an i3 IB.
Is it genuinely hard, or is it just artificially difficult? (i.e. super-high enemy health, bad controls, etc.)
enemies do high damage and have pretty high health, or there's just tons of them. Right now I'm trying to get this thing in this bathroom, the door shuts and it spawns a billion guys. I keep getting cornered by them and they saw you in half if you're close to them too long, or I end up killing myself with my AoE gun because a guy hops in front of me when I shoot it.
Will an SB i3 work with a Z77 board or what?

Yes.
