Advantages of Water cooling? Advantages of Air cooling?
Could I run water cooling with mineral oil to make it safe in case of leaks?
Water cooling is really only better than high end air if it's a custom loop.
I'd suggest going with air.
Decided to go air cooling.

Get this one. It's just the improved version of the 212 plus.

Thanks for the tip.
Case fan suggestion: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835553002
They may look gimmickey, but they aren't. I've replaced all of my stock case fans and stock CPU heat sink fans with these and I've seen massive drops in temps.
They're whisper quiet and provide on of the highest CFM's out of a 120mm fan (highest for amount of quietness by far). Most of the noise you hear from them is an "air woosh" from all of the air they are moving which is not unpleasant by any means. They are also rated very high in static pressure. This means that if you stick two together in a "push-pull" method on a heat sink it multiplies their effectiveness by a lot.
Being a PWM (pulse-width modulation) fan, if you have any four pin fan connections on your mobo the computer will automatically control the fan speed depending on the temps inside. This can also be paired with a program called SpeedFan to get more precise control over how they are controlled. If you don't have four-pin connections you can purchase a fan controller to hook em up to. If you only have three-pin connections, they still work but just at their maximum RPM. Each fan also comes with a molex adapter to hook directly up to your PSU.
They also come with a very nice sleeved cable and are guaranteed for 300,000 hours of performance.
Quick question about Windows: If I have a copy of Windows already installed on my PC, which originally came with Windows Vista on it, will I need to get a new copy of Windows 7 for the new PC?

I'm pretty sure, if you want win 7.

Or would it be possible to just buy a new key, then install using my existing Windows disk?
http://techpp.com/2009/11/11/download-windows-7-iso-official-direct-download-links/
problem solved
Or maybe deactivate my current Windows install?

I don't need a new disk, I need a new key.
[editline]21st January 2012[/editline]
Apparently if I reinstall Vista on this computer, I can use the Win7 key on the new one.
There is no deactivation, but you can install it on your new PC when you get it, PROVIDED you format the hard drive on the old PC (and reinstall Vista Home Premium). That is the joy of retail vs OEM. With OEM it is 'tied' to the first PC you install and activate in on.

Amazon Prime shipping isn't really a reason to go Amazon over Newegg for PC parts. Do you REALLY need your parts in 2 days?
Did I mention it's free two-day shipping.
[editline]23rd January 2012[/editline]
Anyway, I may change the Mobo from the one I had picked in a little bit.

But you can get free 5 day shipping from Newegg iirc. Do you really need it NOW so much that you'll get shittier parts and spend more than is necessary? Is a maximum of 3 days wait really worth gimping yourself?
I've already got my stuff picked out in my Amazon.com cart though.
[editline]23rd January 2012[/editline]
Not to mention making a new account, setting up a new payment thing with them...
[editline]23rd January 2012[/editline]
I'll build it up see how the cost differs though...
[editline]23rd January 2012[/editline]

Amazon.com Subtotal: $1,146.99

Amazon isn't a rip off at all.
Apparently this motherboard has Bluetooth on it. Can anyone disprove this?

Enjoy double post boots and broken SLI if you get a P8P67, I hope it's worth it for the bluetooth.

What I don't like is that Amazon's price listings are fabrications at best. Take the mobo you linked to for example.
List Price: $403.67
Price: $219.99
You Save: $183.68 (46%)
List price $403? No P8 series board was ever listed at $400 ever. $219.99 is overpriced.
Any good recommendations of LGA1155 Motherboards then?
Do I really need the AsRock $236.07 Motherboard when the Cheaper Asus one does everything I need?
[editline]24th January 2012[/editline]
I'll compare them after my class today.
[editline]24th January 2012[/editline]
Or maybe during my class if it's not too much, but I think we've got a test.

It's only $149 on Newegg.com. Looks like Amazon isn't so great after all.

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157271
Where the fuck are you getting $236 from? http://www.amazon.com/ASRock-LGA1155-Z68-Motherboard-PRO3/dp/B0050DQT6G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327424825&sr=8-1 and Asrock > ASUS.
It's $149 when you get the one that's actually sold by Amazon instead of the default J-Electronics. I have no idea why J-Electronics was on there by default though.

Like I said, I'll compare them after my class.

I have that motherboard and have no issues. Plus I'm on the latest BIOS. Easy to flash and manage (obviously you'd have to update the BIOS and he could do it with a USB drive). It's a nice board and I'd recommend it ;-)
Okay, that's one good vote and one bad vote for that motherboard versus nobody minding my latest motherboard pick.
If you get an Asrock, the PRO3 doesn't offer as much as the Extreme3 and the price difference isn't much, Extreme3 is great for its price
If you get an Asrock, the PRO3 doesn't offer as much as the Extreme3 and the price difference isn't much, Extreme3 is great for its price
Explain.
[editline]29th January 2012[/editline]
Give me some insight and I'll look into it tomorrow
No SLI/Crossfire on the PRO3 because it only has one PCIe slot, not sure about PRO3 but Extreme3 has PCIe 3.0 support if you upgrade to Ivy Bridge. There's other stuff someone else probably knows off the top of their head.
