Finally re-jailbroke after almost a year without a jailbreak. I've started using my iPod more and more frequently so I figured I'd treat myself to a jailbreak :v:

The main ones are really the ones that come by default, the only other ones I've found just provide paid apps for free which I don't condone

I installed winter board perfectly it didn't have any errors but for some reason it won't let me install themes, like they appear in winterboard telling me it has been installed but when I respring it doesn't appear to work, so I don't know

I said I got my brothers iPod touch, jailbroke it with the same software I did with the iPad absinthe then I got winterboard the same way I got it for the iPad.
Themes are made for retina, both devices have it, so I got a theme for it and it works on iPod but not on iPad, shouldn't matter right? It was icons not lock screens

iPad icons (especially Retina ones) are a much higher resolution, and I don't think iOS deals with higher resolution images well (I know you have to provide multiple resolutions for websites to have proper iOS bookmark icons).
There isn't any themes or icon packages made for iPad 3 so I'm going to have to wait

I doubt it'll be a day 1 jailbreak for all devices. Of course A4 chips and below will have a tethered jailbreak right off of the bat, but I get the feeling it will be awhile before they find a userland jailbreak to create an untethered jailbreak, and consequently a jailbreak for newer devices. I know I'll be downgrading my iPad from iOS 6 to 5.1.1 before it comes out so I can rejailbreak it and what not until one comes out for 6. Basically get to have my feel of 6 until it comes out, then wait.

I've had a jailbreak for ages and it always worked, but all of a sudden (Past 2 weeks ago) my iPod stopped charging/syncing properly. Is this anything to do with any jailbreak apps or is the port just screwed. It is a bit messy so I'm placing bets on the port. The annoying thing is that it'll still charge, just not show a battery indicator and still play through my iPod dock properly.

It's more than likely the port, but giving a restore a shot certainly can't hurt.
How do I easily jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 in a way that my apps wont get deleted and that I can quickly uninstall the jailbreak, if I for example need to use the warranty.

Apple screwed anyone with an old iPod it seems, I have an ipod 3rd Gen (8GB so technically 2nd Gen) and it's on 4.2.1, every app has updated to iOS 5, even Netflix, the only app I EVER use. So. I try to update to iOS 5, and my generation can't "handle" it, so I'm fucked and need to jailbreak my iPod to try and get access to a free app that I pay a subscription for. Wow Apple. Would jailbreaking even allow me to get Netflix without having to upgrade? I used it on 4.2.1 perfectly fine.

I jailbroke my iPad 2 again after updating it to 5.1.1 recently, and I just downloaded Absinthe 2.0.4 and it jailbroke it very quickly without removing any apps.
