Keep track of http://jailbrea.kr for a 5.1 untethered
eh i think you should keep sbsettings, its really one of the top tweaks. not sure about dreamboard as i never installed it.
also it seems peculiar that you are only getting 75mb free ram. have you tried freeing memory? might wanna reinstall sbsettings, then go so sbsettings then press processes then press free memory. it is strange as your current setup should get you around 200mb ram.
I have tried freeing RAM, normally I top around 90 free Ram, even with no apps open in the background and with spotlight search disabled.
I've never reached 200 before, the most I've topped is 150 mb ram.

A status update, this makes me happy.

oops sorry i made a mistake, your device has 256mb ram so getting 150 free ram is good. getting 90 ram is slightly low but still usable. main culprits are themes/full skins.
How does one remove a jailbreak? I remember doing it before and certain that it was just as simple as restoring the device..
Just as my phone won't read my SIM card, so i'm going to ask for a replacement on Monday at the Apple store. My device has support until October.

you answered your own question
Did you jailbreak to unlock? The unlock will remove along with the jailbreak

Oh :v:
Did you jailbreak to unlock? The unlock will remove along with the jailbreak
Yeah, well the last time they sorted it for me but I jailbroke it to iOS 5.1. I could use it as an excuse as I want the new iPad to be a replacement (bigger screen). Hopefully a windows phone will be simpler for me.
I just want to make sure I can get Apple to replace it so it works with a SIM in, so I can sell it off without hassle :P

My restore/update buttons are greyed out, how do I restore or remove jailbreak?

what did you do to itunes haha
did you edit host files or smth
Well, I updated to iOS 5.1 by mistake after breaking the system by going into a continuous boot loop. Is there any way I can get back to 5.0.1? I have nothing backed up besides an iCloud backup.

nope, sorry there's no way
pod2g's eta states at least a month for 5.1 untether, so right now you just have to use the phone just as it is. 5.1 apparently address battery problems, do you notice any significant battery life improvements?

I have noticed it's been monitoring the battery correctly compared to older iOS versions where the battery would dip under 20% and mysteriously go back to 35% after doing nothing. Other than that my photo gallery is full of black squares as thumbnails since the update.

black squares as thumbnails? strange. try rebooting. also the "dip under 20% and mysteriously go back to 35% " was actually a system whereby the OS takes note of that you are doing i.e playing a game = battery intensive and thus lowers the batt % to tell you how many % it eats at this rate. if you listen to music only, it will increase the batt % to tell you too. later on they decided it was a bad move and thus now the system just displays its actual % left.
I've finally upgraded from garry's old 3gs to a 4s..

The retina display and the design are probably the best changes. The former being fantastic for web browsing
I'm trying to make a custom theme for my Winterboard, but I cannot find a folder anywhere on the internet with all the high resolution images that come with the Retina display, all I can find is 2g-3gs etc.
So, We are just days away from a 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak, according to pod2g

They'll be updating Absinthe to 2.0, and introducing an update to redsn0w. As far as I know the jailbreak does work on ALL idevices running on 5.1.1.
It was demoed on video, but the video was made private by request of the jailbreak dev team (pod2g, planetbeing and such.)
Then iOS6 comes around the corner at WWDC and the wait begins again. I'm not too sure how the jailbreaks happen or work, but shouldn't they just wait until iOS6 to see if the exploit still exists, instead of releasing this and having Apple patch the exploit up if it still exists?

I'm pretty sure pod2g did a survey on his blog, or at least I remember something like that (I think I voted, and if I did it was for iOS 6) where people could vote on if they wanted the jailbreak for 5.1.1 or for the team to wait and see if the exploit still exists in iOS 6. The jailbreaking community is really impatient. I wish he would have saved it, personally.
That's a bit silly.
Here's hoping there's nothing in iOS6 that makes me want to update then.
Since this is the closest thing we have to a general jailbreak discussion thread, does anyone know what battery icon and signal strength icons are in this status bar?

if im right, the reason for releasing the untethered jb before wwdc is because once ios 6 is revealed at wwdc and it is available for download, the signing windows for 5.1.1 will be closed and thus a lot of people will be still stuck without a jb or will be at ios 6 and can't downgrade. if the loopholes/exploits found in iOS 5.1.1 is fixed in iOS 6, and dev team decided to not release the jb until they see iOS 6, people on ipad 3 or or 4S or any other device at 5.1 or 5.1.1 will have to wait even longer for an untethered jb.
apparently absinthe 2.0 releases in half an hour.
iOS 5.1.1 untethered has been released !

Well I got it working, but it doesn't seem to have all the sources I used to have. I can't find any of ZodTTD's emulators for some reason, even after adding his repo.

Can anyone confirm this?
