http://benchmarkextreme.com/Articles/GTX%20460%20ANALYSIS/P4.html EVGA also offers a lifetime warranty and a 90 day step up program if he feels like trading up further down the line.
...and if you overclock then that gap is closed
This one can overclock too :v:
right so im thinking that i should get http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/550W-...version-22-PSU and then http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1GB-EVGA-GTX-460-3600MHz-GDDR5-GPU-675MHz-Shader-Clock-1350MHz-336-Cores-2x-DL-DVI-I-MiniHDMI which comes to a total of £220, which is a more than i was hoping to spend but should look epic with my new screen :) might not be able to get that immediately due to the cost but hopefully i will be able to :) sounds like a good idea?
Hell, you could actually grab this 465 for £129.1 with the promo code EMCYWNV49 (Not sure if it works in the UK, though). Apparently even includes Mafia II and Just Cause 2.
ah that would be epic but does newegg ship to the uk?
Like I said before, I'd do a dry run with another graphics card to make sure it'll work, otherwise you're rolling the dice big time. [editline]05:45PM[/editline] I think there's a UK section of Newegg? Not sure.
don't get the EVGA one, the fan makes a fuckton of noise and it isn't anything special http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1GB-MSI-GTX-460-Cyclone-3600MHz-GDDR5-GPU-725MHz-Shader-Clock-1350MHz-336-Cores-2x-DVI-I-mHDMI still the best version out there [editline]06:47PM[/editline] newegg is US/canada only, and I think there's a china version
Does Newegg.com ship internationally? Newegg.com does not currently ship internationally; we only deliver to locations within the United States and to Puerto Rico.
Damn, sorry dude.
Like I said before, I'd do a dry run with another graphics card to make sure it'll work, otherwise you're rolling the dice big time.
My brother has a radeon hd 5770 in his desktop, are they similar in size? because i could try and fit his into my computer and that would save me some trouble

I'd say the tried and true customer service and price of EVGA better suits his needs. [editline]05:53PM[/editline]
460 is better than the 465
Well aware, but it would've been a £60 difference and he would've ended up with more free stuff. For what he wants it would've been a better solution.

Lol the nVidia card is smaller and more than 2 times as heavy.. shows that ati is the way to go for quality (woodscrews anyone?)
well if the ati card is bigger then surely that should be a good way of seeing if a smaller card will fit? edit: also i've had a look and this is the cheapest gtx 460 i've seen: http://www.dabs.com/products/best-value-geforce-gtx-460-1gb-pci-express-2-0-hdmi--sonic--72KQ.html only a difference of £6 though i guess

You might as well break out a ruler/measuring tape while you're at it. [editline]06:15PM[/editline]
edit: also i've had a look and this is the cheapest gtx 460 i've seen: http://www.dabs.com/products/best-value-geforce-gtx-460-1gb-pci-express-2-0-hdmi--sonic--72KQ.html only a difference of £6 though i guess
While the aftermarket fan is a plus, I can't say much for Palit. I'm not speaking negatively about them, I simply don't know much about them. What I do know about EVGA however is that their RMA processes are painless should you ever have to go through them, they supply you with a lifetime warranty, and they also have a 90-day step-up program which basically means if you feel like upgrading to a better card on their list within 90 days of your purchase they put every penny you paid for your current card towards the new one. So I guess it comes down to this: do you think you'll be doing enough gaming and/or overclocking to justify an aftermarket cooler, or would you rather stick with a better company?
hmm yea well while i do game a fair amount i think i would benefit more from the company services which sound awesome from what i've heard from you :)
