I played this game some when I was really young You'd need an Atari 2600 though
They fuck you thinking about giving a child video games at the age of 5 he should be running round the garden screaming eating dirt and pissing himself. Video games should be kept away till the kid is around 10
My parents owned a video game store in the 90's, that's right, i grew up with Sega, hanging out with sonic at the age of 3, later on they started renting out VHS movies, yep, i watched horror movies when i was 6, and i loved even the goriest ones. I still played in the mud and played hide and seek, to be honest i still play hide and seek.. well, at least the urge to play it. so i probably had experienced more at the time than kids my age. Kids deep down, have notion of reality, they acquire this at a very young age, they won't know it but deep down it is there, if it isn't, it's because it wasn't taught, because every young child is a sponge of knowledge just waiting, to absorb all that their parents will teach them, but don't be fooled guys, our parents and teachers were merely guides, for we learned for ourselves throughout our lives, to our deaths. Even Sir Ken Robinson said that all kids are creative, and that we grow out of creativity as we age. So just think about that for a while.
support 1080p or at least 720p
Why does it matter? It's pretty hard to find a game that doesn't support HD resolutions anyway.
Uh. Why? DOSBox and Commander Keen.
Postal 2 I played that when I was 10 and turned out fine :buddy:
DEFCON, so your cousin can understand the intricacies of global warfare.
If you mean Pokemon LeafGreen that means you're around 14-15 now... Huh. Because Pokemon Green only came out in Japan and it wouldn't make much sense learning English from a Japanese game :v:
私はポケモン緑を果たした。 私は完璧に英語を理解しています。
When I was 5 (well 6) my dad let me play Deathmatch classic and I say its great for children who want to get into the world of real FPS not that spin off we see kids playing today (CODBO) I still play it today from time to time and I'm 17
-snip- late
Postal 2 I played that when I was 10 and turned out fine :buddy:
Was a little worried and thought you said Portal 2.
I used to love RTS when I was younger. Age of Empires, Warcraft 3, Rise of Nations and Empire Earth 2. Try to give him something of reasonable graphics, otherwise he might end up a 'pc has shit graphics, cod looks so much better' kind of person.
Pong. [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] Portal.
Red Orchestra 2, FEAR 3, Amnesia - all great games for kids :v:
My little sister loves GTA, Unreal Tournament, Doom 3, Minecraft, Terraria, Crysis, and Garrys Mod. But doesn't it just depend on the person who is playing on the games, or at least giving them the choice.
Super mario galaxy, super mario 2,punch out.
give him garry's mod, i'd think that if you just give it to him, teach him some basics, answer any questions he has, he'll have quite the time with it if you keep him in single player. also terraria & minecraft are pretty good games too and portal would be nice too to stretch his brain muscle when he's 10 give him some more violent games :v:
chex quest
Putt Putt. I grew up with this game and I suggest you give it to the five year old, it's a game he will never forget.
Teach him to be hardcore by having him play Quake.
he should be running round the garden screaming eating dirt and pissing himself.
Very well said.
Very well said.
but when he's bored of that or the weather is really bad or he has no one to play with, what then?
but when he's bored of that or the weather is really bad or he has no one to play with, what then?
Plays with legos?
GTA 1 and 2 are not really violent through the eyes of a child. I used to play it when I was young and all I cared about was driving the cars and finding the tanks.
wait until modern warfare 3 comes out
mario

But seriously, fuck trying to get the London expansion to work on a PS1, it requires the disc swapping skills of a wizard.
Kerbal Space Program.
When I was around 5 my father owned a mac computer for his job but I used to use it to play games that came on the macworld CD's, I remember one or two of the games that came on the CD's and there are windows versions too, very fun. It'd be lovely if someone could re-make this game because I miss it so much. It's called Glider. (There is a windows version of the game too if you search around)
http://www.matrixgames.com/products/372/details/GaryGrigsby%27sWarintheEast:TheGerman-SovietWar1941-1945 Your child needs to be able to successfully be able to plan the invasion of the USSR by the age of 13.
