You are a dumbass and nobody thinks you're funny.
Have you tried accessing command prompt by making a batch file with "command.com"? It's the simpleton's way and it works on computers at my school.
Oh, im sorry. It probably does not matter to you since you aren't old enough to have to pay taxes, mommy and daddy do that for you.
liveboot CD and then set up a partition and install whatever the hell you want but lenovos are usually picky about stuff like that
Buy another laptop HD and install linux/windows on it and put the original drive back when at school. Unless they put a sticker over the doors on the bottom.
"Someone cheated on a test! We must stop giving the student's tests so this doesn't happen again!"
Tests are mandatory. Laptops are not.
Use OPHCrack.
Or use a safe mode trick for xp.
And wasn't there some cmd promp that let you change the admin passeword?
Nostalgia ... I used a batch file disguised as my home work to get my bitch teachers e mail and all ... I found out that she has 3 bf's at once (FYI I didnt do anything other thanto read e mails ) ...
Oh god. Wow, why didn't I think of that? That would have been like taking candy from a baby. :smug:

Yea I think that's it. I did it once but it came up as a Sector 5 error.

Original. You can't really sit on a high horse on the internet, so get down because nobody looks up to you.
He doesn't live in your fucking country and your taxes don't go to his university in any way, shape or form, so stop acting like you own the place.
[editline]04:50PM[/editline]
By the way it sucks that they limit you so much. I fell sorry for you, bro. Wish I could help.
It normally looks like this..

I don't think that laptop would have it due to the fact it would have to be constantly connected to the school network. I could be wrong. When i was in school we didn't have the money to hand out laptops to ever kid, our English department could barely afford books - half of the books we used where bought by our teachers with their own personal funds.
You shouldn't do anything to destroy or change the computer its is suppose to be used as a tool to help with your education. Doing what your trying to do will only get it taken away from you. I know if i got a laptop while i was in school like that i would leave it as is.
Kind of off topic, but are you at duke right now?
You should be able to run Windows in safe mode, I think it would be silly if that was somehow disabled in case of the need to repair the laptop in any way. You might find a way around it by doing that.

I can choose to go into safe mode, but I can't sign in (not with my login at least). And trying Administrator as a username doesn't work
Oh my god, kids don't need laptops in school... fucking spoiled assholes.
...and are you too lazy to boot Ubuntu from a flash drive? Perhaps you should just blow the partitions and install Windows 7 RC1.

Hey, I didn't ask for a laptop. But it beats writing so I'm fine with it.
And I can't boot off a usb, can't change the bios settings

You CAN change the BIOS settings by opening the panel on the bottom and pulling the battery out. then turn the unit on and off a few times, then plug the battery back in. CMOS will be cleared and you can choose your own boot options.

Why don't you just buy one yourself then?
Or don't they allow you to bring your own laptops?
Lankist has gotten stupid lately.
It's what happens when you stay at FP for 3 years.

They don't, and I don't have my own laptop anyways

Get this
Plug laptop hard drive into your home computer
Partition, install windows
Success
I don't know if this is in the wrong section, this seems to be the right place to post about this.
SO, my school has given all of us laptops (we take them home and stuff), but it's as restricted as shit.
Is there anyway to become an admin?
And yes, I've googled about this before, but the methods didn't work.
I've tried that "at xx launch "cmd.exe" thing, but it doesn't work.
I know the risks of gaining priviladges, I just want to know if there is a way.
The laptop is a lenovo r400, if you care
I know how
The user is * and the password is *
It works.

Does his laptop have a 2.5" IDE, or SATA? Because if it's SATA you don't need any adapter..just plug it straight in.
Great find anyway!

Good point I almost forgot that my own laptop runs on SATA
I never got suspended when I fucked with my School's computers, rather they paid me to help them with their shitty security and I now have a part-time job in the IT offices :v:
I got my computer privies taken away for hacking into my teachers accounts and changing my grades.
I gave music an M.
I got suspended, a note sent home threatening legal action upwards of $50,000 and an hour long interrogation by the head of campus for having the program "Hack It" on my home directory.
While trawling my drive they found pirated copies of Red Alert 2 and worms, and then insinuated I had them hidden within schoolwork.
For those of you who don't know, hack it does this:
Among its many features are: Improved window list refreshing, dozens of useful window-altering functions and powerful automation controls.
Fucking retarded school administrators.

Sue them, I'm sure laws against false accusation also exist in your country, as well as laws that prohibit them from suspending you even if you're innocent.
I don't think you do. In most school districts ranging from USA to UK and pretty much everywhere, fuck with the computers and you're liable for suspension, let alone no computer privileges what-so-ever.
In order to contribute, there are programs that force command prompt windows to open, but I won't tell you which ones.
I'll tell you this right now, don't do it. I nearly got expelled in my sophomore year for something that wasn't harmful, nor my fault. The only reason why I stayed and got off all punishment other than no access for 3 weeks (locking an account to view logs) is because the I.T. guy and the vice principal is awesome.
2 years later, I'm now the I.T. guys intern and I'm getting my own administrator account soon.
Just don't fuck yourself for the future.
You're fucking stupid. Stop posting in this thread if you aren't going to help this poor kid.
As my contribution, I say switch out the hard drive lol
