Windows Mobile has and always will suck.
Though it isn't Windows Mobile. Completely redone from scratch.

can whatever mod rename the thread Windows Phone 7, it's kind of misleading as Windows 7 Phone, at first you think "holy shit windows 7 on a phone"
can whatever mod rename the thread Windows Phone 7, it's kind of misleading as Windows 7 Phone, at first you think "holy shit windows 7 on a phone"
oh, its not a windows 7 phone? screw this im out. [editline]03:48AM[/editline] oh, more like a zunephone. im in, this looks awesome actually. [editline]03:51AM[/editline] if i got one i would want one with a physical keyboard and some decent hardware inside, but unfortunetly the only one there with a keyboard is a dell phone. staying away from dell.
why stay away from dell? they've made great smartphones, tablets, and netbooks in the past. [editline]01:57AM[/editline] what, would you prefer to construct your own quasi-frankenstein smartphone?
I still wonder how anyone could like this horribly simplified UI. Specific elemets are too huge (like the headings which seem to be partially off-screen on purpose, whose idea was that?), way too much wasted screen space. And it doesn't even have anything in the way of a notification bar or at least battery, signal strength and time like on the iPhone.
Because the iPhone is a glorious beacon of function over form.
Because the iPhone is a glorious beacon of function over form.
With the lack of something such essential, a status bar, in Windows Phone 7, the iPhone is probably more so than this. [editline]09:58AM[/editline] And this doesn't even look good.
And this doesn't even look good.
It looks amazing, I love the Zune aestethic.

Sweet my Zune HD is now obsolete :frown:
Tegra phones soon pl0x.
Sweet my Zune HD is now obsolete :frown:
You could still hack it.
i lurve this interface. on the zune its great, all they need to do is have an overlay with notifications come up on the bottom half of the screen or something.
Actually it does have a status bar.
huh?
That's just, like, your opinion, man.
Never said it wasn't. I was pretty hesitant about the Zune HD and its UI before mine arrived (I pre-ordered one so I got it on the release day) but it really is an amazing interface. I would love to have a phone with the same interface, it's incredibly smooth and functional. The way everything flows makes it seem like the whole UI is one big "page." On the standard phone, for example, when you push a button, the screen has to change and bring up a new screen for whatever you selected. On the Zune, it feels as if you're just moving to another section of a single 3D space in order to access whatever the button's feature is. Sounds gimmicky and whatnot, but like I said, I've had a Zune HD since the release date and I fucking love it. I hate using my phone and other people's iPods/iPhones because the UI's feel so ridiculously clunky compared to it.
Tegra phones soon pl0x.
Motorola is on track to receive a huge shitload of TEGRA2 shipments from nVidia sometime soon, which means they've got something well in the works already. speculation puts that somewhere between October and December. that's android, though. however there was something I saw the other day that mentioned Windows Phone 7 devices using TEGRA shit, which would make sense as LIVE integration is something Microsoft really wants.
aren't there like four applications for the Zune HD worth noting? i'm sure it's a great device it just doesn't have the best support at all. last i checked, anyway.
Audiosurf. The thing that I hate about the Zune HD is how the marketplace only has microsoft apps, there's no user-created apps, unless you hack it (and there still isn't much). That and it can't render Facepunch correctly.
i don't really give a shit whether or not a mobile device can "properly" render facepunch, never am i out and thinking "hey i wonder what facepunch would think of my Build A Bear Workshop bear that looks like Justin Beiber"
the iphone interface is clunky and annoying. go away.
I read that and disregarded everything you said.

the iphone interface is clunky and annoying. go away.
I don't like the iPhone either, but even that does this better than Windows Phone 7. And even though this looks ~minimalistic~, it still wastes more space than pretty much any other smartphone system I've seen.
Okay, you hate it and you have no intention of ever conceding anything else, now stop trolling.
I use my Zune HD for listening to music, surfing the internet on occasion, and watching videos. It does all of those things perfectly fine. With a phone version, just add calling, texting, and taking pictures to that list. Honestly, I think the whole apps deal is stupid. I know so many people that are "hurr durr I have hundreds of apps on my iPhone and you have like 4 on your Zune lololol" and yet, they rarely every use those apps unless they are really bored and feel like wasting a few minutes. Zune HD has Audiosurf. Bam. That's all you really need to waste all the time in the world. If you get bored of that, there's Project Gotham Racing and other fully 3D games to play. It's pretty ridiculous when people go around buying phones based purely off of how much useless shit they can add to it instead of focusing on purchasing the most efficient and functional phone out there. The Zune HD UI is incredibly functional like I said, and much smoother/easier to navigate than an iPhone or Android phone, all while being easy on the eyes and battery efficient. The OLED screens on these bad boys will also give them pretty significant battery life I assume. I took my Zune HD to jury duty and watched 2 movies, played 3D games, surfed the internet, and listened to music for 11 hours straight, yet it still had a quarter of its battery life left when I got home. Not many mobile devices can boast that kind of performance.
In a mobile device you have the network constantly running, GPS, bluetooth, syncing and plenty of other battery draining features.
