That is true, exactly why efficient and mostly better parts are a given. Some OLED's like Samsung's are too over saturated for my liking, but my Zune HD's is great. The Pure blacks are something you crave for on bigger screens.
I agree with Maverick, since I started using Android on my HD2 (which, I like more than Windows Mobile 6.5 for what I do and need), I've only downloaded a few Live Wallpapers and a Windows Live Messenger app. Some silly apps are nice, but I would only use them to kill time if I was fed up with absolutely everything else.
If the high quality of a device is evident through every little feature which I personally feel the Zune HD has for music, then apps don't mean much. Having a great UI is far greater than a thousand/million apps I'll hardly if ever use.
Microsoft has the market sealed up until the release of the WP7. That's why the Zune marketplace looks so empty right now. Once the phone is released, they will flood a huge list of apps onto it. They had a sneak preview on engadget.
Some great looking games revealed in Engadget's latest preview.

Check it out horndogs, very polished looking.
Just added a full list of games going to be released at launch.
I'm not due for a new phone for another year and a half :saddowns:
Why is every single one of them SQUARE and FLAT?
IMO they should just release one device, and call it the zunephone

Windows Phone 7 is open source?

tbh It doesn't look "Zune" enough for me.

the home screen doesnt, all the others look zune enough to me. if you want you can probably change the colors to black and pink on the home screen, but i see what you mean.
Windows Phone 7 is open source?
hardly, but Windows Mobile is. however most devices you get from a carrier are practically locked down either by the carrier or the manufacturer
Thought I would bump this back up by saying Windows Phone 7 was Released To Manufacturers a couple days ago.
Oh and there was a leak from a O2 spreadsheet which had a device listed called a HTC HD7 which is apparently the HD2 successor but they moved the number up to 7 to keep it inline with the new Windows Phone branding. Apparently its going to be released on October 18th

I feel like getting a w7 phone. Mainly since I am about to learn proper programming as well so would be fun to make games for it.
And it would be nice to upgrade from this:

Never bothered to use cellphones since I never call or anything. Heck, I think I might be the only teenager in the world who doesn't know how to send text messages. :v:
