Something like every 20 mounts on Arch with default settings

That joke was either really terrible, or way too subtle. Either way, my fault.
Too subtle, I guess
fsck is generally friendly to me

33 on Gentoo
and it seems to count the times it gets mounted in Windows too, which is kinda neat
I'm doing a bit of cleanup on my system. I was wondering if I really needed mesa. I am running arch with an intel GPU.

I think it's ok to remove mesa if your hardware drivers are working, however I don't know what the effect would be if they failed and it had to fall back to software rendering.
I may be wrong.
Probably no harm in trying to remove mesa, if you have problems just reinstall.
Installed Ubuntu 13.04beta2 into a VM, giving it a try since I want to set up a Linux VM purely for development of certain stuff.
Honestly, I can't believe how impressed I am right now, this is bloody brilliant.
I might use this as a primary OS on my laptop when the final version comes out.
My biggest cripe about Ubuntu was how bloody slow the search was, and it's pretty much instant in this VM now.
The only thing to keep in mind is that you really, REALLY need 3D acceleration. I disabled 3D acceleration in Virtualbox, and booted it up. Jesus fuck, I wish I knew accurately how slow that was, but it's unusable.

Fixed it.
What exact model is it?
What exact model is it?
Fixed it by doing this:
Installed ndiswrapper from source found here.
I then edited /etc/modules and stuck ndiswrapper on the end.
Rebooted
Ran ndisgtk and installed the WNA3100 driver for windows.
(By the way, this took a lot of looking around the net and troubleshooting)
Im trying to get VNC working on opensuse in order to connect via my phone and have a GUI, but no matter what I do I cant get it to use KDE on the VNC, this is my xstartup file:

Try using x11vnc instead.

Fuzzy search is the best feature of it.

I wonder if it still breaks on my laptop

OK, that's actually pretty cool.
Well, 13.04 is running pretty well on my PC, and it is surely more comfortable now. I suggest you getting at least a look at it if you can.

If you don't get it here's the source.
I love how "please" was aliased to sudo the previous command
I should probably do that. Would be useful for those cases where you forget to sudo.

Yeah, I find myself using the !! syntax a lot, sometimes I get fed up and su for a while instead but I always feel like I'm at a greater risk of messing something up.

Aahahahaha, you can make the handler program that handles the "command not found" messages in Ubuntu 13.04 crash, if you try to execute LS, with caps.

How exactly? I have it in a VM and its just reports:
scott@scott-VirtualBox:~$ LS
The program 'LS' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install sl
[editline]27th April 2013[/editline]
Also if you don't have it already, `sl` is a good laugh (as long as you don't mess up ls too often).
the amount of kde users here is too damn low..
the amount of kde users here is too damn low..
Too bloated, damn annoying, ugly and low usability. That's my opinion of it.
I'm seriously pissed the Arch /setup/arch was removed, now I have no idea what I'm doing.

What desktop environment do you recommend?
What desktop environment do you recommend?
MATE, LXDE, Xfce and Cinnamon are all worth checking out.
I use Xfce on my netbook, would use Enlightenment (so damn sexy!) but my netbook gets a bit warm when using it.
it just seems like all other desktops missing key features..
when you install kde-full (Ubuntu package)you are getting all of their programs and stuff. I've got new features i wouldn't dream of.
maybe the KDE you knew (the slow one), does not exist anymore?
when I'm in other gtk based desktops I feel that something is really missing.
In kde i can design a panel fully with everything i need..
